Jump Rope

I don't know where this thread would go since there is no Cardio section. And I dunno if there was already a thread but here I go.

What do you think about skipping rope? I actually like it as it helps cardio, works out the forearms(heavy rope or weighted handles), and since you jumping it works out all the other mucles in your body a bit. It is a good way to lose body fat and water weight also.

What are your views?

Skipping rope is a very good cardio workout. Unfortunatley I cant do any cardio until I gain some weight, but I still think skipping rope is an important part of anyones cardio workout. It also, like you said, is a good way to burn fat. If you have a six pack hidden under some fat, jogging and skipping rope are great ways to get rid of it.

Hey I did before I lost to much weight... lol actually 8 pack and im serious. Of course you have to do alot of ab workouts, you cant just jump rope and expect it to already be their, it takes alot of ab conditioning... DUH!

Jump rope is very important, I agree. It definitely shouldn't be your only source of cardio though.

On wednesdays and saturdays I usually do 17 & 1/2 to 20 minutes of jump roping (depending on the rest period on the bell (I do slow coordinated jumps to keep moving but still rest during rest periods)) It's all straight without stop.
