There should be a democratic option for banning people on this site. So, for instance, if 20 people agree, boxing>MMA would be banned. Basically it would be like a neg rep but it would have real consequences. Is there anyone here who thinks he has anything valuable to say?

bloodknuck has a little shameless behaviour in the past
having the name boxing>MMA is already an insult and obstruction towards the purpose of this discussion and forum. Hence "MMAFORUM.COM" but he is displaying his opinion of how boxing is greater than MMA...GTFO imo.

He obviously needs some attention and doesn't care whether it's negative or positive.

Anyway... back to the subject of this thread...

On the issue of deadlifts and takedowns. I'm no expert so I can only tell you what my experience has been. Deadlifts have improved my overall strength more than any other exercise. Think about the double-leg motion and the deadlift and find some intelligent way to argue that deadlifts won't help.

When I do deadlifts my back feel f*&#ing amazing afterward. (I'm not saying that I know for sure I'm not doing damage because I haven't X-rayed myself after working out, but I feel great.) Also, my posture noticeably improves after deadlifting. Sure, maybe deadlifting 600# every other day will hurt you. My max is 275# at this point so I'm only at about 1.5 X my bodyweight (I'm 6'2", 190#).

All boxing>mma is doing is trying to piss people off. He probably doesn't even believe his own crap.

how many reps should i do on the dead lift? about 4-6? right now im doing 8-10 of what is failure to me..so thats about, 106 LBS (including the bar), for 4 sets.

I never wrestled in HS or college but my 4 brothers and I have a kind of impromptu mma school thing going on. We watch training videos and read books and train with each other. So no, I've never wrestled competitively but I've studied and practiced takedowns (without real instruction) quite a bit.

I love wrestling and learn quickly. Right now I'm in the process of selecting a gym to get some real instruction.

HMMMM, I was just working on takedowns in bjj class and I don't think arm strength has much to do with it. Considering you "drive" your opponent with your legs! Being your center is lower you do use your arms somewhat but I don't think it's all arm strength.

30. My brothers are 28, 25, 22, and 19. When we're together it's like we're still kids. It was great growing up with brothers and it's even better now. I have yet to be subbed but I've pulled off a triangles, RNCs, arm-bars, and guillotines. My youngest brother just went in to the army. He sent my Mom a letter telling her to tell us that he has yet to lose a ground fight, and he's the worst fighter out of the 4 of us. I guess all the practice with us paid off.
