in my gym routine, i do alot of functional exercises that will make me stronger for the ground game, like deadlifts, squats, exercises that target my lowerback and thighs.
what body parts are crucial in executing a takedown, thighs, back, shoulders? pls let me know,
You might wanna talk to DoubleLegTakeDown about this, he knows allot good info about takedowns.
dat is my name lol.
for a takedown you wanna have real strong legs (squats, deadlifts, cleans, duck walks, pistols=one legged squats) to power through them and real good pulling strength (pull ups, rows) and good grip (wrist curls, one arm hangs)

No point incorperating deadlifts into your workout just hurts you in the long run with back pain. Focus on good grip and arm strength your legs will always be strong enough to support somebody who is 400 ibs. Personally I think grip is more important than arm strength and both of those are more important than leg strength.

Deadlift is one of the best exercises you can do. Leg and back strength are the most important in taking someone down.

i think ill disregard that suggestion, for the reasons of your name "(boxing>mma)" and i dont think arm strength and good grip is valued more than leg strength when it comes to the takedown
just diregard everything his head, who doesnt know that your arm strength and grip is what takes down your opponent? duh!
