thought of this other question...

before any of us go into the gym and start pumping, we got an entire atmosphere pressing down on our bodies. thats like 30lbs a cm^2. plus, even the weakest of us can bench at least 135. now consider a guy that can bench 250, and another guy that can bench 500. is the latter really twice as strong? cause if you think about it, they both gotta push through say i dont know, 200lbs of air so wouldnit it really be like 450 and 700?

huh really? I don't feel anything! ...because we've adapted to that

question?

cuts through the air?

not that complicated... 500lbs is 500lbs and 250lbs is 250lbs.
place a dumbbell on a scale, if the scale is functioning properly it will show the same number as the side of the dumbbell ... won't add 30lbs a cm^2 blabla

500lbs is twice as much as 250lbs.

even though one can bench twice as much as another, does not necessarily mean he is any stronger.. but he is twice as powerful bench presser.

hope that answered the question

Does this really matter? That's like saying "Well, Fedor wouldn't have been able to be undefeated if it weren't for the air he's breathing".

dude 500 is 500. the whole air thing has already been figured in there when the weight is made and doesn't have any bearing on pressing the weight. what you are talking about is gravity and unless it comes and goes, i believe the air and the pressure depending on you altitude stays constent.

Kinda funny that you figured out about 200 lbs of air. Just makes me laugh a little.

LOL gravity pushes down 9.8 N on your body... 200lbs haha sry just makes me laugh as well. and due to us being exposed to gravity everywhere we go it has no affect.
