Just a day I learned i had a torn ACL and I was wondering whats the best way to go? I never had one before , should I go with surgery? or is there a way i can help fix it? for me this is scary shit , so got tips on how they got through a torn ACL inujury??

I'd go with surgery. I tore my acl about a year and three months ago and had surgery to fix. About six months after the surgery I felt like new, I was able to start running and playing sports. And now I have no problems except for occcasional aching. Plus they hook you up with a lot of pain killers.

ya i did , they said I choose what i should do they can hook me with a surgeon or i can heal myself so....

dude, missing one hockey season now and fulling healing is 100x better then missing 5 hockey seasons down the road for not letting your injury fully heal.

Yea well put. I tried playing baseball on my torn acl and it didnt work out too well. So I couldnt amagine trying to play hockey on one. The best bet is to get it taken care of now.

Well they put me to sleep during. But im not gonna lie when i woke up it hurt like a mother f***er. But then they gave me pain killers (a lot) then i was fine. But it will hurt on and of for a while, about two weeks then it will start to feel better. In the long run its worth it. I was supposed to get my done in february of 06 and waited til july so i could play baseball. I regret it now cuz im only about 85% compared to the 100% i could have been if i would have had it done in february

first man i play hockey too. I broke my clavicle in a hockey game so seriously that i had to have surgery. now my left arm is about 1-2 inches shorter than my right arm. I missed the rest of the season but thats how it goes.

Theres no way u can play hockey with a torn acl. U need sergery. But the thing i don't get is that u haven't seen a doctor yet and you're asking a bunch of people on the internet what to do ahhahah. And no, you don't feel anything during surgery. They put you to sleep, and then wake up hours later in a bed with no pain at all. you then leave the hospital with painkillers which you take for the first week or so. little to no pain is involved so dont worry.
