Really? I have to work at it?

You seem like an absolute BEACON of knowledge when it comes to weight lifting! WOW!

Do you have any other tips for me, oh wise one?

I will not lie. I can bench about 80. I play soccer so we don't have to bench as much. And it's not like i lift it once and say done I rep it. Which I don't think many people have been counting in this thread.

185 is my one rep max so I don't know why that's so hard to believe. I've been lifting for 3 years and I just got up to 185 about a week or so ago. Plus I hate bench-pressing. If I could I'd completely leave it out of my routine and stick to medicine ball plyo push-ups

When I read it I thought people meant repping it. Because that is how bench presses actually help you. But 185 isn't hard to believe for one rep.

Yeah. I don't really even try to go as heavy as I can. I'll get a decent amount of weight on there (115 or 135) and do as many reps until failure.

Glad to see I m not the only one thinking that when I saw this thread. The bench is an ego lift, most bodybuilders/weightlifters not powerlifters could care less of how much they bench. More importantly how much do you squat?

HA! 98% of these numbers are complete & utter bullsh!t. You'll have to excuse me for not believing all this crap....

Only cats I believe are: wukka & C.S. - and that's because of one reason: I've seen them do said number.

Period.
Whenever you're in Toronto, let me know, so we can train together. Hardly anyone at my gym ever goes and visit the squat rack and or do compound movements, I'd like to train with someone that actually like powerlifting.

I didn't mean every response Zach. You know, just the ones where...you know...a clone weighing 145, and puts up 295 lbs. HAHA....yeah, ooooooooooooook! Trust me, I saw your progression photos, and read your posts in here - you're well on your way. So, it wasn't so much your number...just the majority!
