I just started doing pull ups at work in my factory on a hoist lol. I do them every other day, started about a week ago. I can force myself to do 15 now before it was about 10. In a week I've added 5 and I expect to be able to do 20 by the end of next week. I'd like to be able to do about 35 without struggling, that would be nice. Haven't tried the chin ups I don't think. I have my palms facing me so whatever that is, that's what I do.

I do have a question though, are chin ups/pull ups something you should do in reps or just do as many as you can and that's it. Cuz it seems if you do reps, you gotta wait a good 3-4 minutes before you can go another set, and even then it is a lot harder the 2nd and 3rd time around. But is it bad because you let your muscles cool down and then go again? I'm not a weightlifter I don't know much about it but I am getting more involved and starting to get addicted to it a little. I don't know much about reps and sets and such.

10 is great for never doing them before,
chin ups= plams towards you
pull ups= palms away
and it depends on what you are training for....you could do them in small bursts for a lot of sets or max or with heavy weights.....depends on what you are looking to build... (i am not an expert either)

the grade isn't based directly on pull up number in gym class right? people in america are fat....lol. so most only did 0.
and the wider pull ups build up the shredded V back....(i am starting to get one !)
so what is your pull up number now?

Only gone up by 2 atm, still though more than the other week . In the gym class were graded on stamina, strength and technique. Lol we did boxing the other week and the teacher had to stop me from hurting the "hardest" kid in the year. Teacher says from what he's seen so far should be getting A* just gota pass the written exam next lol. Looks good going the pulls and chins aswell.

The club near me is one where you dont have to pay for say a month you just pay at the door, so occasionally i might go down for a bit. In the gym what it was we had the gloves and hook/jab pads out and we all just started taking it in turn to box each other. Funny thing is the men teachers wont let us but the woman will. Good job got a woman for gym Shame no girl in gym class though

At school, no we just wore gloves. There were 3 rules. No head shots, no punches to groin and stop means stop. We all just took it in turn to have a go at each other, and of course being my such good mates they made me take on the "hardest" kid in year. Glad they did though
