Active Rest?

I was reading an article the other day and it was about explosive mma training etc. An it said when designing your program to have a certain amount of active rest while in between sets and exercises.

I was just curious what else i could use for active rest about from running, an cycling???

Any help would be appreciated

Trying jogging instead of running. On you rest days you don't want to just vege out on the couch. So you want to do some light activities. Go play some golf and skip the golf kart, go for a walk, shoot some hoops without getting into a big game. Just anything to get more blood flowing to the body parts without doing anything taxing.

I guess I didn't really read your post. Since you were talking about resting in between sets and not rest days.

I usually just hop around. I am serious, kinda like you are jumping rope but without the rope and much much slower. Just walking is enough to prevent blood pooling. Some times I would throw a tennis ball back and forth in the gym while resting.
