hitting harder/faster?
itd be nice to get a full answer to this question, but any length with good advice would be nice.
i wanna learn how to jab harder (my jabs are pretty weak), cross harder (they're getting stronger but i want them to be uber strong, hook harder (my hooks are pathetic), uppercut (that isnt an uppercut harder, i've never done an uppercut in my life), elbow harder (my elbows are uber-pathetic), knee harder (my knees are also very weak), and roundkick harder (they're getting there, but I must be missing something cuz I've seen someone round kick so hard that they've knocked one of those ground punching bags 5 feet backwards in one kick and i sure as hell can't approach that).
Also I would like to learn to hit harder from the guard (as in when someone is on my guard).
&& I know more speed adds more power, so it would be nice to know how to increase my speed on all of everything I've mentioned. Obviously you could write a book on all of this, so just giving a few good hints wood be awesome and directing me to links where other people explain these aspects well would be just as awesome (or maybe more awesome depending on ow much info is there)
So could you please give me an overview of the excersises and techniques that i can use to improve my speed and power?
Oooh and i don't have weights and i love bodyweight excersises, & there is nowhere around here to train besides a karate place that wont let people hit hard even once they're blackbelts

Hey m8 Im gunna give you the same advice that I was given way back. Focus on your technique!!! I don't know what your physical condition is like, but if you don't have your form down all the muscle in the world isnt going to make a difference. So get a heavy bag and start hitting. Control your kicks and punches and remember your power comes from your "core". In other world the rotation of your body generated by your abs, back, and hips. Once you get that down you can start going at it faster. Give it a few weeks and you will notice a huge difference. Check out youtube for videos on how to properly throw the strikes. Good luck m8.

Yo man from what your telling me seems like you need to keep working on it, there are allot of things you could do like start to lift weights, work out etc. Also when you train with your striking, as you punch, you should have your palm loose and tighen it before you hit the bag this makes it faster, which will eventually help you out with your power

I got more power from weightlifting. I think the only exercises which gave me real powere were deadlift and the squat.

+1 for core. I noticed a huge improvement in my heavybag work when i started training my abs and back. Now i rate Abs #2 next to to cardio as things to train. I always shunned ab work because i wasnt trying to "develop" my abs(dont care what i look like) but then i read about it a little now i have 2 books just on Ab and core workouts. I mix up stability and movement work outs like spiderman pushups, planks(front and sides) and any "twisting" like throwing a medicine ball from the hip, or one armed planks, russian twist, etc. Even plain old situps with dumb bells and stuff. And def focus on your technique like has been said. Practice driving your foot and hip backwards and your shoulder forwards. Punch in slow motin and study how your body works like a linkage and what parts do what. Then you will be able to focus on what you are doing wrong. I know little guys(im 5 11 230) that can hit harder than me in every aspect because of their perfect technique

it took me like two years and I'm not a big guy (6'2" 155lbs.) but the loose palm trick they talked about earlier really does work very well.

Punch with some weights. When you take them off you will be a lot faster.

Dude, watch your diet, if you honestly care about your weight, you will be able to do it. Who ******* cares about your punching power, the chicks will flock to you more if you cut down. I'm around 8 inches shorter than you and I don't weigh anywhere near that. Will you hit harder if you get in shape? You'll be able to hit more but I don't know about harder. Honestly, what's worth more to you biceps or vags? (I'm sorry I'm being blunt right now eh)
