Rich Franklin's workout routine is it really good for MMA athlete?

Don't get me wrong it is an INSANE workout and I couldn't do it, but isn't it like the opposite of what you should be doing for and MMA athlete? I thought you weren't supposed to concentrate on isolating the muscles and rathe concentrate on more compound lifts? Correct me if I am wrong, but I wanted to get some other opinions on this. Thanks all!

I think he's doing his workout more for endurance and cardio. He's not so much as isolating them, but tiring one group out, then tiring another set out so he can give another group time to rest and go nonstop. I hope I'm making sense. There's a lot of science behind this, so if you have any more questions about it, pm me and I'll do what I can to explain and help

randy does circuit training as well and that is why they have the 2 best gas tanks in the ufc. they aren't concerned with bulking up but with having great endurance.

What does bulking up have to do with anything? Bulking up means eating more calories.

About the OP, I don't think Franklin's workout program is the best, but it works for him, and does a pretty good job at giving him some good muscular endurance. I'd personally go about it a different way, but then again, I'm not as successful as Rich Franklin, so no need to fix what isn't broken.

it seems like a great workout for muscular endurance, which is most likely his goal...but it seems to train the aerobic system predominantly(1 hour with no rest) as apposed to the anaerobic system, which is used mostly in an mma bout...its worth mentioning that his coach has designed this workout specifically for rich franklin and therefore wont neccesarily work for me or anybody else...one size does not fit all
