A slap on the ass isn't neacessarily the worst advice - if you can't motivate yourself you might have anger issues - as in a lack of it, or it's not working right (ie *****).
Maybe you do need someone to man you up a bit, in England we have the territorial army - which is like part time army, so you can keep your ordinary life...

Im super out of shape, and slightly overweight, but you wouldnt be able to tell. I'm about 240 (give or take a few) 6'0"... but you honestly wouldnt be able to tell i weigh that much i look more like 190-200. But my goal is to get to about 205-210.

And motivating myself is the major factor here. It seems almost impossible to do. SMall steps though i guess right?

ultimately it comes down to motivating yourself......Thats what seems to be your problem and we wanna help you with it dude cuz you sound like you COULD be a beast if you wanted too....

If you are not able to motivate to yourself, then find someone or something that does. I suggested someting in my first post that could work or works for me and buddy working security had good motivating reasons in his line of work....

I will make you this promise if you give it the tough three weeks 21 days they say it is......and you commit to it, think bro 3 weeks of doing somthing that at the least will make you feel better, its worth it and you will want to keep going because you will feel better and feel better about yourself.......

Only you can do this...are you a sorry looser that has not even enough discipline to make change happen or are you gonna step the **** up and do what it takes to get the process started.....if you find after three weeks that you just cant keep going then its not for you....but dont be LAZ bro cuz its the easiest cop out and wanting somthing for yourself but just not wanting to do what it takes all comes back to who you are?????

No disrespect as I would hope you know.......just motivation!!!!!

Do it Brotther, also we have a trainning section on the forum where people post their trainning logs, SWPTHLEG has a good one, so does Kamikaze145, and Wuckkadb all have good ones you can follow....and you can go back to see how they were starting and how they have progressed......

I encourage you to look at these you can find them in the training and nutrition section and post on their threads they will answer specific questions....Hell dude in Jan I weighed 196.....out of shape from a car wreck.....said screw it and started working out and yesterday I weighed 155 1/2....and Im ripped........this didnt happen cuz I sat around wanting it to it happened by running 3-5 miles a night 3-4 times a week and hitting the gym lifting to now build muscle in my legs and strengthen my core which will help you tremendously, I have always been naturally strong so i work with about 225 on the bench, and now plan on putting on some mass.....

Again Good Luck and get the **** off the couch.....lol

If you have no one to help you, it might take a long time to find good reasons to get started. But even reading the training regiments of people on this forum got me to step it up, maybe that would work for you too?

If you flat out are going from videogames to trying to have intense workouts then you are going to have a problem. Start stretching every single time you wake up, or every single time you feel bad about yourself. Stretching is necessary before any sort of workout, and you will begin to ENJOY the feeling of tiring your muscles.

Everyone else here has also given good reasons to begin, and you are cool for actually admitting your laziness, I'm sure there are many on this forum who actually don't do anything as well and lie about it.

Stretch man, all the time, do curls while you are watching tv, shadow box every spare minute you have, do whatever you can now, because if you wait too long, your body won't like it.

EAT EGGS EVERY MORNING. some people have problems with eggs, but if you don't, take advantage, you'll have more energy than before to carry you through everything.

There might be too many women in your life. Or not enough. What is the women situation?

RuffRyder09 has a little shameless behaviour in the past
Stretching every morning is something i have been meaning to do. i got into the habit of it recently, but got myself out of it. as well, i love working hard and tiring my muscles, i love any type of physical labor as well. So i already enjoy that feeling, but starting the exercises to get that feeling is where my lazyness comes into play.
as far as women go, i have a longtime girlfriend, soon-to-be-fiance of 2 1/2 years. not that she doesnt mean anything and she doesnt motivate me. she already thinks i look great so that motivation is already out the window. she does however want me to be healthier, and after ive been reading up on diseases and cancer and the like, being fit is a large part of avoiding those things is they are not heriditary... so maybe thats part of my motivation. futhermore, i said to myself last night that theres nothing in my life that i cant personally change, and overcoming this hurdle of being discouraged and allowing it to halt my personal growth as an individual mentally and physically is shameful on my part. like all of you have been saying, i am the only one who can make myself work. and intend to do so, riiiiight after this tv show. just kidding. but in all seriousness, this is a must do for myself,
so thank you all for the support and i will be posting my progress within the next few weeks to come.
