Why is too much fat bad for conditioning?
 
Is it because the extra fat, say >15% works as just carrying extra useless weight?

Go for a run with a 45lb plate, then run without it. Which is easier?

Also all that fat takes blood flow away from muscles and makes your heart work more to get blood out to that tissue.

Fat is indicative of bad health otherwise.
