I tried a Randy Couture Style Circit OMG it was killing me!

I really expected to handle it better, it's almost embarassing but at the same time I think most people when they do it utilize a really low weight, I used a relativly low weight but the no break thing was killin me.

anybody done it and stuck with it to tell me wha tkind of results it got for them?

I use to do it alot haven't had a chance to do it because things have got busy with school. No doubt it sucks. It will not bulk you up but I got a lot of core strength and endurance out of it. I also got alot faster too. As randy said carrying around all That bulk just slows u down and uses up allot of oxygen so you gas quicker. I haven't done for a while because of school and stuff I haven't had much time to do anything else other than my regular mma and tai chi classes I really want to start doing it again though. Stick with it man and it will turn you into a beast.

That's good how do you recomend progressing?
it's focused more on building Endurance so shoul I just leave the weight static and add reps and sets or exercises or what
right now I'm doing 135 lbs at sets of 10
or is one run through considered a set?

This is really hard to answer this (especially over the internet) because it largely depends on your body what you feel and the stage of fitness you are in. There are several different types of ways to progress with circuit training. Add weight ad reps or add sets. More weight less reps = more bulk and strength and less weight more reps = more tone and endurance. Really though you may want to talk to a personal trainer at you gym he could probaly be more helpful than me. Best of luck to ya hope the work out works well for you.

Change the weight reps and sets to fit your fitness level. Also ad and subtract exercises if you want.

I'm actually fairly experienced with lifting weights I just hadn't really done a Circit style lift before.
I will experiment and see
I've got a tentative goal of 10 overall runthroughs but that will be a ways off
I've still got more to add as far as lifts go before I start adding 'rounds'

i have been thinking and here is the way i think you should progress and since i just started back on it its the way i will progress as well. Just got some extra time today and did three rounds on top of my cardio work out.

take what ever weight you can do 8 or 10 reps per exercise and also go through 6 rounds. make that your routine and increase weight as you get better. Thats the way i am going to do it.

what kind of time between Curcuits do you plan to take and how many exercises do you do
presently I had done only 4 the first time and then added 1earlier when I did it so 5 exercises. I am not sure what I'd wind up working up to in terms of overall volume.

i try to do 6 or 7 exercises. including in this rotation bent over rows upright rows, shoulder press, good mornings, lunges. squats, dead lifts. Sometimes depending on how crowded the gym is i have to cut out an exercise or two. in between circuits i only take the time to get a drink and catch my breath so i guess that would be about 30 seconds maybe less.
