But! Only this if you know how or can get professional assistance to learn proper technique these will destroy your body worst than an ex gf who just smoked pcp and finds you banging her little sister if you do it wrong. I would like to add I don't do these, I do lunges, box jumps, stairs, jogging, wall squats etc

Someone mentioned above, but if you have ad/abductor machines available they are pretty gd!

Stuff like jump squats, Olympic lifts (e.g. clean and jerk, snatch etc.) and deads all create strong powerful legs.

Really the best way to strengthen them for ground fighting is literally freeplaying (rolling at 100%) with your opponent in your guard and they have to escape/go for a sub. Your goal is to sub from your back, sweep or just control their posture. If guard is broken just repeat! Pretty intense on the adductors/general body !

Down this road, in a gym far away,
a young man was heard to say,
"no matter what i do, my legs won't grow"
he tried leg extensions, leg curls, and leg presses , too
trying to cheat, these sissy workouts he'd do.

from the corner of the gym where the big men train,
through a cloud of chalk and the midst of pain
where the noise is made with big forty fives,
a deep voice bellowed as he wrapped his knees.
a very big man with legs like trees.

laughing as he snatched another plate from the stack
chalking his hands and monstrous back,
said, "boy, stop lying and don't say you've forgotten,
the trouble with you is you ain't been SQUATTIN'. "

Firm supporter of proper technique (and banging Xeb's gf's little sister). Also would mention that while squatting, should make sure to be in a cage/power rack or have a reliable spotter. If you don't have either, have an escape plan and be awares. Get too far forward and you'll be landin' face first with a couple hundred pounds on your back. D=

Are there any specific strength drills to improve this, or do you get the strength from sparring?
Two things:

1. Ground-game drills that engages your legs in those awkward positions.

2. Full squats, and lots of it.
