Benchpressing? How much?

hey i'm 15 at 129, height 5,5 or 5,6 now(been gaining lately ^_^) Anyways, how much should i be benchpressing at my age? Atm i do around 80. This is kinda ahrd for me lately since i'm just starting to get back into traning(Gomi's lsot has inspired me to keep in shape) so yea. since its kinda hard atm my question is

a)How much should i be benchpressing
b)if its not at what i should be doing, how much should i be benching

Bench Pressing doesnt get you in shape in the first place so are you gonna be a weightlifter or a fighter? If youre gonna be a fighter then weight training is only supplemental and bench presses are one of the more useless lifts even for that. Push ups are much better for fighting strength, balance and endurance. They work many more muscles than benching does. Also, you wont gain all the muscle in your chest like you do with benching.

so whats the best for being a fighter? Push ups? Situps and that kinda stuff? Cause i wanna be able to hit hard.

well weights are good, Im not only saying to do bodyweight exercises but pushups are more fight specific. They force you to balance yourself which works your abs. Bench pressing is a lot more stabilized so you dont have to do anything but just lay on the bench. For hitting hard..I pick up a sandbag and do basketball passes. Or do something dynamic like shot putting a dumbell in the backyard. It gets your hips ready to punch instead of just your arms. I cant box worth a shit but I knocked a dude out with a jab after lifting this way for a few months. I wont knock bench presses completely though..obviously if a guy can bench 500 lbs he can probably hit hard but it doesnt teach your body how to deliver a punch..it simply builds basic strength. Also doing negative reps like catching yourself during a pushup builds impact strength. Basically you kinda just fall down and stop yourself with your hands instead of going all the way down to your chest. This will greatly "stiffen" up your punches so there is no "give" in your shoulder when you hit someone.

I used to be into weight lifting hardcore. Lately, I do body weight pushup, crunches, squats, and tricep dips. I'm trying to work more on cardio and endurance than strength.

Weights, Running/Fitness Stuff/ Fight Training(striking), Stretching are essential for a good fighter(i might have missed some).

lean muscle

I m a wrestler so what i have to say is going to help you prob more in grappling but it will make you strong as well.
to be a strong quick fighter you want to build lean muscle mass, do this my lifting less weight and high reps (sets of 3-5 and 15-20 reps) that will make your muscles more dense and you will have higher endurance streangth.

where as when your lifting more weight with less reps you will gain more muscle but some of it will be useless and it will only be good for explsiveness. only do that if you want to build some muscle then after a few weeks of that go to your lean mucsle plan to tone it.

Also cardio is good make sure you evenly do endurance and sprints though, like run 3 miles one day and do sprints of a hill the next.

also curling is also highly over rated if curl or do biecep exercizes it will shorten your reach, instead work on the sourounding muscles like your triceps and shoulders it will work your biceps enough ( you may not have big guns but that wont matter after you knock the other guys out)

also for your information profesional power lifters bench twice there body weight and you should be able to bench your own body wieght or more, but like the other guys said benching is one of the most useless exercises for becomeing a powerfull fighter, If you do all of the other lifts your bench will go up without you worrying about it(but it doesnt matter anyway.)

100-130 pounds.....steroids is the way to go. Whatever the publics says, steroids is not bad for your body. Don't read to these supplements, they help only a little and their worse for you. The only reason why the public and these corporations say that steroids is bad is that they want to make money, selling you these supplements...ie: Xyience, GNC ect. These corporations who come up with new stuff every month for us dumb f@cks to buy are junk; and their bad for you. Corporations lie all the time; to make profits. Same us tylenols, cough syrups, anti-biotics...we dont' need these, there's natural cures for these shit.
