Since his win over Fedor Emelianenko sent shockwaves through the mixed martial arts community, Antonio Silva has heard it all. The the Russian heavyweight wasn’t at his best, or that the fight was premature stoppage.

And apparently, the American Top Team has heard enough of it.

In fact, the Brazilian juggernaut is open to a rematch with the former PRIDE heavyweight champion, should the two meet again in the foreseeable future.

Silva met with Emelianenko on February 12 at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey where he was able to dominate Fedor in the second-round of their heavyweight tilt, mounting the Russian and dropping heavy bombs. Eventually, the fight was halted in between rounds on the Doctor’s advice when Fedor’s right-eye had swollen shut due to the mounting blows.

Several outlets had the fight even at one round apiece, and have speculated the outcome of the match should Emelianenko had been granted to return for a third-round.

“Personally, I rather enjoyed that fight, and if Fedor would like a rematch, I would graciously and respectfully grant him one”

“I don’t think it would be in his or his camp’s best interest, but that’s not for me to decide. It would set the record straight though.”

The reported psychic in the audience was hilarious, and turned out to be more of a joke than anything (Otherwise M1 had been beyond mental, wait, maybe they are anyway)

I think it's great that Silva is willing to offer Fedor a rematch and leave the choice up the the last emperor and his handlers in M1, though he has a tournament to focus on presently :)

Fedor has alot of waiting/work to do if he wants to avenge both of his recent losses... Good luck dude, but I think the game has passed you by

Sadly to say I think you might be right. He just hasn't looked the same in his last 4 fights at least.

if anything a rematch with Werdum is more fitting, Silva has earned that win on his record and now needs to think past Fedor and think about the rest of the GP.

As for Werdum should he lose to Overeem then a rematch is on the cards and presents a huge opportunity for both fighters, Fedor to show that he is still one of the top HW's in the world and for Werdum to prove the first time was no fluke.

i fear for Fedor's life if Antonio Silva gets a rematch. Fedor can't compete with Bigfoot, they are 2 weightclasses apart, and loads of skill apart. Fedor is a simple brawler who throws a simple overhand right, kind of sloppy...

Silva throws straight punches with precision. His groundgame is light years beyond Fedor's... his guard passing is great, Fedor's guard passing is laughable. Bigfoot has better gnp, his wrestling is lightyears beyond Emelienenko's. Bigfoot has such a strength advantage over Fedor it looks like a man vs a child.

I fear for fedor's life if they rematch and i am not joking

Werdum had Antonio Silva turtling up from his strikes. And i'm pretty sure I remember Werdum shrugging off Silva's TD attempts cause he's so slow - while Werdum was sucessful in his takedown attempts. Antonio Silva may be hyped up at the moment, just like Werdum, but he's not really that good.

This isn't about size, it's about being in top shape, technique, skill and ability, something Fedor was desperately lacking during the last fight. And the Brett Rogers fight for that matter.
