Whiteboarding Takes To The Air
For those who regularly engage in presentations, whether work related or school related, a company called Interphase is releasing a device capable of delivering whiteboarding technology but without the costly, bulky equipment that usually goes along with it. Penvue is an interactive device which uses wireless technology in a stylus and also acts as a storage device for a minimum 8GB to 16GB of memory. The stylus interacts with the image on a flat screen or surface and allows the user to highlight text, draw diagrams or allegedly store presented information for use at a later date. Because of a small camera located in the tip of the pen, calibrations are continuously being adjusted and a variety of colors and image thicknesses are available at the touch of a button, and can be used at a distance of 40 feet away.
The camera reportedly deciphers a system of “invisible dots” and allows the user to to access stored information even if a computer or flat screen is unavailable. The system comes complete with its own storage box that also functions as a charging station and updating compartment simply by plugging the box into any computer.
