I'm trying to put together a budget system that will still be able to play some emodern games, not necessarily at their highest settings though.
So here it is:

Intel S775 Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0GHz CPU

ASUS S775 P5KC Core 2 Motherboard

DDR2 4GB Geil 800MHz Dual Channel DDR2 Kit

250GB Seagate 7200rpm 16M Serial ATA HDD

Gigabyte 9600GT 512M PCIe Video Card

Xsonic 8006D Case Black

LG 20x DVD Burner SATA Black OEM

If you can suggest an alternative componentthat costs the same but does a better job, please let me know. Or even just feel free to give me some feedback on this system, like it or not.

only ting id suggest is hold off for the new video cards. the new AMD/ATI are kicking ass and cheap, the 4850 is cheap and benchmarking like crazy! so nVidia is dropping its prices to try and compete. even the 4870 is hanging close to thwe nVidia 280GTX and costs half as much.



video cards may get real interesting like CPU's did back when AMD outperfored and cost less then the intel stuff.
