Car Amp Remote turn-on queston

Hope someone can help me out with this. Planning to install a toggle in-line with my remote turn on lead wire. If I get a 2 prong toggle I just splice and hook one toggle prong up to one side of wire and the other prong to other side correct?

pretty much, Ive done this by also not running a remote wire at all but merely putting small wire from the main power to the switch and then to the remote input on the amplifier, any simple two prong switch will work but if you can find one that is encased it is better since you dont have to worry about accidently grounding the switch, if the wires are bare on the switch even a loose screwdriver can lead to a ground one the power switch and prolems with frying you amplifier.

Excellent. If I end up having problems with my elec. system then I will hook-up the switch I have.
