virus's trojans worms spyware...etc etc is what you get if you dont download off the right places. Find yourself a private torrent site. If your paranoid about security learn to use usenet....encrypted servers muhahahhahahahahah. Kazaa is a minefield, your better off out of it.

So if I understand correctly it's a toss-up between getting free music or getting viruses? Ugh I can't possibly PAY for music, . Damnit, I want to have my cake and eat it too.

dont be absured then do it have your cake and eat it!
Download something like Utorrent and then just go to a site like demonoid and voilla. If an item has a virus ppl will let you know in the comments....but if you got a decent antivirus then you'll be fine anyway.

I have been using free antivirus programs for at least 6 or 7 years. If it makes you feel better to actually pay for antivirus, then by all means buy it, install it, keep it up to date and run it. But I promise that if you do the same with free antivirus software you will have just as good of protection. Just make sure you run antivirus, a firewall and some kind of anti-spyware/malware removal tool.
But then again, if you don't...no big deal...I make a lot of money off people who don't think they have to have antivirus or anything running. They have to pay me $50 just to take it into my lair and attempt to save their precious pictures of their cat by cleaning up all their viruses....
