Exclamation Net Problems

Hey peeps, not a comp n00b or nothing but have a little problem regarding my internet. Here goes : I have a Dell Dimension from 2001 so it is designed for use with Windows 98 SE - Windows 2000, but I am using XP which runs abit slow-performance wise but the internet runs faster than in 98-2k. Just wondering why this could be, any help appreciated. Thank you.

I.e. Windows 98/2k - 350 kbps download speed
Windows XP - 550 - 600 kbps

Also my connection is 10 mbps. Thanks again.

Well, with Windows Xp the inner workings of the operating system itself have been reworked so that has something to do with that I am sure. Windows 98 was just a horrible OS altogether. Slow, buggy and insecure. Win2k is still decent I use it on another computer still. XP has came a long way on performance, so I am not surprised at a gain in network speed.

Thanks to Toxic for the Awesome Sig!

Even if the whole world is against you, one thing will never let you down. That thing is beer.

Win 98?Still use it???Better change to XP...because 98 is use for stand alone PC..not for network.
