Google Chrome OS Official!
Quote:
Does Chrome OS Spell the End of Desktop PCs?
by Matthew Murray
Until yesterday, Google's Chrome OS was all just theory and speculation. Rumors had been floating around for months, and there have been a couple of false alarms about its source code being available on some obscure site somewhere. But now Google has actually shown the real Chrome OS in action and released the open source code behind it—two things that could signal be the first ringing of final death knell for desktops. Personally, I'm extremely excited, especially being a huge open source fan. Is anyone else looking forward to trying Chromium?

I tried using Linux, and ran into too many driver hardware problems. I used Google Chrome for a day or two, and eventually went back to Firefox for ad-block.
I wish Google would take over everything, honestly. I work in the PCS field, and I wish Google would start their own PCS network.

I don't know how you can go back to firefox, I love almost everything about Chrome, only thing I hate is when I do an image search in a search engine cntrl click doesnt open a new window so I lose my place in the results.

The biggest reason was ad-block, and another reason was the lack of the ability to delete browsing history when you close the browser. Firefox does them both, and it's awesome.

I'm on a slow connection, and sometimes ads take longer to load than the actual site.

I got the "extreme" high speed, (Telus actually calls the package that), not really sure there is a diffrence between the extremem and the normal but what ever.

I personally can't wait for this, everything google releases is pure quality.
Chrome is my browser, I use Gmail as my e-mail...and recently I was invited to test google wave which is pretty damn innovative.
Hopefully Companies will make drivers/software for Chromium and Chromium will be able to run video games as good as Windows does.
Edit: I currently use Windows 7 and really like it.

Interesting... I would like to see how it will integrate with other software as well. Vista gave me too many problems. I am considering an upgrade soon, before I will get too frustrated.
IE is a total mess. I am using Firefox for two reasons. It is safer and faster. I didn't try Chrome as a browser yet.
