Vlc media player

Hi all,
Recently I began to use VLC to watch videos but I can't find a very important feature: remember the position where the movie has been stopped and the program has been closed.
Does anyone know if there is setting, a modification or a trick to do this?
I have seen that there are the bookmarks but this doesn't works because when you close the program all the bookmarks are erased.
Thank you very much.

Hmm ... I don't think there is such a feature on VLC, although it is the greatest media player ever! Simple and easy to use.

hi guys,,,
Yeah, you are right in my view too there is not as such any future in the VLC media player. It is a great media player.A freeware software that supports maximum number of media files. To play from the beginning is the option that you shall find the Cyber link Power DVD.

yes.. vishal is correct.
I love CyberLink PowerDVD, i have yet to encounter a file that PowerDVD was unable to play.
It comes with tons of premium features, even supports my Infrared Remote that came with my Notebook.

It's even able to play ripped Blu-Ray, DVD files.

The only downside is PowerDVD installs a lot of files on your computer to be able to support every known imaginable file, which leaves a heavy-impact on your computer's performance. But there's no other way.

Which is why i made myself a Portable Version of PowerDVD.
If anyone is interested, i have the latest version.

VLC also installs tons of Codecs on your computer. But it's freeware, with limited features.
There is a public Portable Version available here:
http://portableapps.com/apps/music_video/vlc_portable

Officially Supporting
Edson Barboza
Dustin 'The Diamond' Poirier
