Hard to tell since I was already dropping weight since before I decided to compete. But I used 233 as my starting point and now am 227. So I have 18 more to go to get to 209 by November 9th weigh in.

What a shitty night of training. Escapes from 1/2 guard, Escaping while in the guard, reversal while under full mount. Couldnt do anything right. very discouraging, but it was one hell of a workout.

So it has been a couple of weeks since I posted. Just an update. 7 weeks away and the weight is coming off nicely. I have 13-14 pounds to go, depending on the scale. Training is coming along, and I have been working on my sweeps and control positions.

So last night I did 3 five minute rounds, 2 back to back with different guys, a 5 min break, and then 1 more. Cardio wise I was spent, but not overly so. However, I am realizing more and more that I'm not very good. Kind of discouraging, but it is what it is. I only have 3 months training under my belt, and thats general MMA training and not 100% dedicated to BJJ.

just venting I guess..

Just be happy you are out doing it. It takes a lot of will and determination to keep training and putting in the effort, and I'd focus on having fun, enjoying it, and just be proud of yourself that you're putting in the time learning some new stuff and that you are dedicated.

Don't worry too much about "not being good", as you said you only have 3 months training which is basically no training at all when it comes to competition. Always keep trying to learn/improve and make sure you put effort towards it, but it's only been 3 months, don't worry about not "being good" yet.

Relax, chill out, and enjoy it.

All of the guys making you feel like you aren't that good also were not that good at one point in time. Gotta start somewhere. The only difference between them and others that tried is that they didn't quit. Keep it up!

Thanks guys. I know, just frustrated at the time I posted. BUT, once I think about it, I do know about a few sweeps and a few submissions that I only ever heard about or saw on UFC. I am surprised though that my cardio is where its at. Thought I would be more winded after 1 5 minute round let alone 3.
