Well i might as well start one but i won't be doing much for a week and a half.

I have experience in of course Judo as well as Boxing and some experience in Karate.

Height - 6'0
Weight - about 145(don't have a weight scale)

Food -

Weetbix x6
Apple x2
Chicken wings x2
Rice
Carrots
Water(approx. 8 glasses)
Sandwich x1

Exercise -

30 minutes Bagwork(combos and cardio)
*15 minutes Shadowboxing with weights(decreased weights as time went)

I will exercise and workout a lot more very soon and my training ways range from modern with weights etc to traditional Karate training methods.

*Note - The shadowboxing with weights will increase hand speed with strikes and i am quite sure it is best to start with say 10 kilograms and decrease it to say 2.5 kilograms and then go to the bag and do bagwork or shadowbox but the bagwork after the speed weight training is better.


I will write from time to time explanations of techniques i know mainly Judo throws and i was about 2 sentences away from completing one about Uki Goshi(Floating Hip) and my computer stuffed up so sorry guys i will make it up to you.

But for know here are the 3 main and most important parts of a throw.

Kuzushi - Breaking the opponents balance.
Tsurkuri - Body contact
Kake - The part of the throw and follow through.

Next entry i will probably write a technique description, anyone got any requests of a Judo technique they want explaining? i will if i can.

Food -
I will not be doing this for my average food take ins they are similiar to the one above.

Exercise/Workout -
Pushups 35x3
Situps 125
2k Run
15 minutes Bagwork(combos and cardio)
Approx 7 minutes Knuckle conditioning
*Traditional Karate strengthening method x10

Today was a fairly light one and i will be making much bigger logs soon and also an explanation of a Judo throw(O Goshi).


*This is a very unknown but excellent body strength training method.

Stand with you legs even and about shoulder width apart. Have your hands in the Karate punching position which is a fist with the palms facing upwards(both and with open hands). Tense/Flex every muscle in your body that you can. When you have done this reach out and turn your arms and when they are extended grab the air slowly and curl them back in. The important part of this method is that you must tense your body and also push and resist reaching out at the same time and it is amazing how much it fatigues you when done them correctly and a few of them.

Judo practice is 2 hours and knuckle conditioning is conditioning so it is harder pretty much so it does not hurt as much if you do a mis punch or something and you hit harder.

I do it by punching my punching bag with no gloves or anything.

How about the one where you have over/under clinch and your place your back foot across their feet, throw your weight down, and flip them over your hip. Anything would be cool though, that's just all I can think of. I'm VERY interested in Judo/***** and would love to gain any knowledge I can in that area.

On the outside or inside? and where abouts, below the knee or above the knee?

Did Karo do it to Josh Burkman? that would be a good one because it is one of the throws i am best at.

Inside, not sure about the knee. It's like a hip toss but it's just really cool/effective.

Exercise -
Extended Situps x100
Pushups - 5 sets of 40
Bicep curls 45kg - 5 sets of 5
Benchpress 45 - 4 sets of 15
Bagwork(combos and cardio)
Bagwork(knuckle conditioning)
Bagwork(elbows)


Judo Technique - Harai Goshi(Sweeping Loin Throw)


First of all this technique was used by Karo recently against Josh Burkman. The way to do this throw technique wise is not to land on them but many people do it in competition etc and there is no problem against it.

In this move the main feature is the use of your right leg and hip. The opponent's weakness lies to his right front corner.

A right Harai Goshi(left Harai Goshi is just the other way around).

Griping, with no gi grap the opponent's right tricep or lock their left arm and have their arm in your armpit area and the right hand goes underneath the opponent's left arm and the bicep should be facing upwards and have you hand around the opponent's shoulder area(I usually grab the top of the opponent's shoulder)

Pull the opponent forward(break Balance), with hes right foot leading. As his weight comes to his right toes, slide your left foot across in front of the opponent's left foot. suddenly and strongly pull hes body against yours, pivoting counterclockwise on your left foot. the opponents chest should be held tightly against the right rear side of your chest. Now still pivoting to the front, sweep your right leg back striking the opponent's lower leg with the calf of your leg. Turn your right foot and leg inward as you sweep. the sweeping of your leg and the pull of your arms will throw the opponent. For a successful application of Harai Goshi it is absolutely necessary that the opponent be unbalanced to the extent that releasing your hold on him would cause him to fall involuntarily.

You can land on the opponent and it is still Harai Goshi.

*note - A similar throw Harai Makikomi can be used and you land on the opponent and pretty much side control which i will post in further training log additions.

Yes...But many don't expose your back it is more your hip and it is an strange position so they would have to be extremely flexible to get your back.

I know what i will post next...O Uchi Gari...Major Inner reap, it has been used in many occasions in MMA and can be used from the clinch position(it is a leg sweep).

Hidehiko Yoshida got Don Frye with O uchi gari.

What did it look like?

Judo is more taught by most western dojo's as the sport way of Judo which a technique is to give your back and turtle to stalemate the match so the referee will stand both Judoka's back up but in street fights or MMA this is a very bad thing to do which is why i don't take in teaching like this so my Judo is like the older judoka's like Masahiko Kimura(beat Helio Gracie) and in saying this Judo has the bad name by some people know because of this but if used correctly Judo can be very good.

Plus you have to be aware on who you are fighting.

I may be mainly a Judoka but i have a strikers physique, some Boxing skills and powerful hands so i would probably stay standing if i was fighting a BJJ expert, whats the point of taking down someone that wants to be on the ground?

Although io love the old BJJ V Judo stuff i think people should leave it as that and stop carrying on about it because Judo and BJJ together is a powerful combination and people like Shinya Aoki, Yushin Okami and Fabricio Werdum use it.

many people don't do this but you have to fight with a style that suits you which many people don't do that they just use what knowledge they have with no strategy.

Benchpress 135 ibs - 4 sets of 15 how much do you weigh? I can't do that then workout. Unless you mean you just did the bar or 22 1/2 on each side.
