my fkin log

Mon.: 4 mile run, average pace 9:45 mile, 15 min. pad work.
Tue: 30 min. pad work and plyo intervals, 15 min. bike.
Wed: rest day, also my husband kept me up for 2 hrs in the middle of the night with horrific snoring.
Thur: 4 mile run, same average pace, 15 min. bike.
Fri: point sparring, 50 min of related drills then maybe 15 min. total of sparring.
Saturday: pulled something in L foot in sparring, iced it a lot last night and this AM, did 30 min arc trainer and 20 min bike. This is turning out to be a pathetic week for running.

sun: didn't work out
Mon: took older daughter to gym with me, place was packed, 20 min arc trainer. 1 hour TKD conditioning (the usual as mentioned in numerous other posts).
Wed: 4 mile run, some jump rope but it was a little crowded for that. I'm counting the days till they get the Wavemaster and speed bag.
Thur: 4 mile run.
Fri: 4 mile run. I admit I had to take a couple of walk intervals for 60 seconds or so like a biatch. 10 min. bike after that.

sun 1-11: 3 mile run (hung over, couldn't manage below a 9:50 mile) 20 min. bike.
mon: 1 hr tkd conditioning (jump rope, pad work, pushups, situps, squat thrusts, sparring drills)
tue: 4 mile run
wed: 4 mile run, 10 min. bike

Side note- with how often you hurt yourself do you ever wonder if you're overworking yourself? I don't mean to be a demotivator, just wondering if it crossed your mind.

My ankle break didn't happen in the gym or dojang, it happened jumping out of my car onto an uneven garage floor. I ice it and also the ligament I tore at the same time. (both injuries happened at the same time, I mean). Also I write the alphabet with my big toe in the air a few times a day, which both my orthopedic surgeon and a marathon runner told me to do. I find that I have to stop running here and there and stretch my calves out, b/c shin splints are frequently caused by calves not being limber enough.

Anyway today (Thur) I did 1/2 hour mad pad work with jump rope intervals, tkd point sparring which was the usual pushups/situps./jump rope/jump around and whale on people.
Fri: 1 hour sparring drills. I worked but it was weird b/c my dojang was so fkin cold I didn't sweat much.

Mon: 4 mile run (avg. pace about 9:40), 10 min. bike
tue: 40 min arc trainer, 10 min jump rope, tkd one-steps (kind of like an ippon in judo except there isn't always a takedown).
wed: had to stay home and help empty cabinets and move stuff and get bossed around. SUCKED
Thur: 4 mile run, 10 min. bike. sparring cancelled.
fri: TKD point sparring. I did not get nearly as much sparring time as I wanted.
sat: 2.5 mile run, pad work and point sparring with my daughter. She hits hard and is a "runner" in sparring so I got a little bit of a workout on top of the run.

Mon 1-26: 1 hour TKD conditioning (jump rope, pushups, situps, kicking/blocking/punching drills on the pads, jumping jacks, squat thrusts.
Tue: 4.5 mile run, 10 min bike.
wed: 4.5 mile run, 15 min bike. I'm not doing HIIT but I am doing interval training, where I run at 6.8 or 7.0 for a couple minutes, then have a longer recovery period. Toward the end of the run I'll try to sustain the higher speed for longer. I have no idea if this is good to do, but at that point, I just want to finish. I will be dropping my speed just a little next week b/c I want to get past the 5-mile mark on a regular basis again.
thur: 20 min mad pad work/10 min abs, at 8 i have self-defense sparring with the usual jump rope/pushup/situp warmup, then hopefully renduri (similar to the "sharktank" mentioned by Illmatic) which is everyone takes turns punking on you and you have to work a certain technique and you have so long to get them off you.
fri: rest day, competition tomorrow, icing shins etc. they got banged up in sparring. not freaking out yet but I probably will be once I get there.
