Good days of rest.

I'm going to experiment with my morning training a bit this week. Got a book 'Fit to Fight' by Jason Ferruggia to reference and we're also going to start doing agility circuits from my partners tape by Kenny Florians conditioning coach.

BJJ class was decent, pummelled, practicd passing guard from a stand, then practiced pivoting around to an arm bar. Then we practiced passing guard. Almost triangled all 3 guys but only finished with one guy. Got a few good guard passes and sweeps and vice versa. My partner caught me in a nice armbar. Class.

MMA Class. Running warm up, shadowboxing for a long ass time, including shooting and sprawling while sbing. I feel alot of weariness in my legs from the agility drills this morning... Then practiced throwing a few then shooting for the double leg. After that we practiced standing up from someones guard to pass, gnping, swinging legs aside, then coming down on them into half guard, side control, or if they curl up, taking the back. Then we rolled. Me and my partner had a really good roll, plenty of practice passing and regaining guard... He's wise to my triangles now and knows its my favorite sub. He caught me in the same goddamn armbar he always does on the same arm that's already in pain. Then I got him in a arm triangle. Next guy was smaller and older but more experienced, he locked down hard and I couldn't manage much. He was after a kimura for ages but I wasn't going to hand it to him so he sunk a guillotine in. I didn't have much for him besides a few dominant positions. Then rolled again with my partner and right off the bat sunk a kimura. Class ends. Tomorrow we'll be spending substantial time in the hottub.

Finally got my credit card so I can order some much needed fight gear. Proper fight shorts, mma gloves, new hand wraps, a better cup, maybe a rash guard. Now I'll at least look like I can fight.

Also going to order supplements in bulk to save cash. Bulk protein, some better quality vitamins, fish oils, maybe something caffeinated to kick my ass in the morning...maybe not.

Training this morning didn't happen...needed to catch up on sleep... 13 hours later and I was off to work.

Tonight was Muay Thai + MMA with a different but quality trainer. Did like 500 jumping jacks then 500 little shuffles that swap your stance, then just simple knee raises. Then onto kicking the sheild on command then onto kneeing on command, 100 each side. Practiced wrestling for clinch, learned two ways to break clinch and then practiced. My partner was fooling around and caught me with a tasty elbow on my mouth, I respect elbows even more now. Class lined up to interlock legs then we did something like 150 situps..Thats class.

MMA was a bit more slack, learned some good stuff though. Technique was a cool set up for a triangle, and a standup from guard. Then we rolled. My partner hurt his knee when it twisted weird. Next up was a new guy who put up a good fight, nobody sunk subs. Next guy was significantly smaller than me. Sunk an arm triangle and a rear naked (woot I never get these). Next guy was strong as an ox and kept on top of me. I wasn't strong enough to control his arms into a sub, and not smooth enough to sneak one in. Tried to guillotine but his neck was too ******* thick. But he wasn't proficient enough to sub me, so we wrestled and wore our selves out. That's class. Good thing I had a couple days off, or I would've died tonight. 2 more days of rest now.

BJJ

Had a real good day today. Got invited to the advanced class, I'm now welcome to go into it. Got a ton of extra rolling time today. Worthy notes are a triangle ->armbar I landed on my partner (first combo I actually intended). Also triangled 2 big guys, one of which is alot more experiencd than me. I got to roll with 2 blue belts and stayed on the defensive most of the time. One was smaller than me and I managed to stay safe, the other was about the same size and armbarred me twice but we had a good roll. I had a few stalemates too, of course.

My forearm's still hurting quite a bit, it's been aching for about 2 weeks now and I'm thinking there might be a small fracture or something. I'm going to keep training, take a week of rest before the tournament and then see how it feels after that.

I'm not training in the mornings right now. More focus on recovery and making the most of the technical classes.

MMA

Was feeling pretty lethargic today but pushed through anyways. Tough warm up, then practiced take downs, then a few punch/kick combos into a takedown. I hate getting taken down constantly. Then we rolled. It was a small class and everyone was pretty new...I basically would pull guard right away, let them spaz around for a minute or two, then submit, then show them how to pass guard, sweep, etc. I landed 2 triangles, a rear naked, and a guillotine. Nobody submitted me, though I don't think they were submission specialists either so it wasn't too great of an accomplishment. When I was triangling one guy he rolled me right over and my neck popped. Was painful for a bit but I stretched it out and then went back to rolling. Now my neck isn't hurting but my entire upper back feels like it's turned inside out. Icing it now and will hit up the hottub tomorrow morning before work. I think it'll be okay for BJJ tomorrow.

What's the Ali shuffle?
Also, what dosage of fish oil do you take every day?
What vitamins would you recommend apart from B, and C?

Take like 6-9 fish oil pills a day. You should also just focus on taking a multi-vitamin... has all the b-vitamins you need plus a bunch of other shit. Vitamin C is not really that important, you already probably get much more than you need on a daily basis. My suggest vitamin list:
-Multi-vitamin
-Fish oil
-Basic greens

You really don't need more than that if you're just looking for general health. If you have specific things you're worried about you might wanna add somethin else for said problem

Missed BJJ yesterday. My Back was hurting, but felt fine today.

Muay Thai with Pele.
Skipping, Warmup run, few rounds of shadowboxing...first boxing, then just elbows, then just knees, then just kicks, then everything. Drills on the sheild... 100 kicks, clinch knees to high kick, push kicks, 10 consecutive head kicks, etc.

MMA
Ground and Pounded a heavybag for 30 mins. My left wrist and forearm are still hurting so I tried to stay light on that side and favored the elbows. Kept pretty constant and changed positions often. Then we rolled. I was feeling pretty burned out so I just held positions while letting them freak out. I'm trying to get the hang of popping in an armbar but I keep missing it, it'll come, just one of those things that feels awkward to do in practice.

The ali shuffle is just swapping your stance in a quick hop (one leg forward and other leg back). At least that's what my MMA book describes it as. I'm sure Ali had some trickier things up his sleeve.

I ordered 'Opti-men' by Optimum Nutrition. Comprehensive multivitamin as well as greens.

I usually take 6g of fish oils.
