Today got switched to no-gi and to be taught by Jeremy. Everyone showed up late except for me and Gerbil was running class... Which means he locked the door at five after and I got a free private. He asked me what I wanted to do and I had something in mind for this sort of situation - I wanted an intro into submissions below the waist.
Went over ALOT. Starting from a transition from side control to reverse mount, then falling off for a kneebar, an alternate hold for the knee bar, a calf crush for when they cross their feet, and also an inverted heel hook. Got alot of reps in under different situations, and in one hour I feel like I've gone from complete ignorance to having a decent grasp on the basics. Also did rolling kneebar from near turtle position.
So I was dreading going over all these techniques but it was a necessary thing in order to capitalize and help register on this large amount of input. Luckily however, Gerbil has videos on his youtube account of everything we did today. I'll repost them here and review them a few times.
Let's see if I can figure out how to insert videos on here.

and another backup
I figure I'll do 5 privates with him, so probably one a week until I go home. Awesome.
Rolling knee bar technique, when they're attacking you in the turtle but their one leg is resting inbetween yours, grab it with the arm on the same side as them, rolling forwards and driving your leg into their armpit, trap and finish kneebar in the same way you would in the above video. Can switch to a calf crusher if they lock up their legs.
