I can't do Sandstorm! That's forever Wanderlei's. There's certain songs forever associated with fighters imo. You can't come out to Ain't No Sunshine without ripping off Anderson, or Shipping off to Boston without ripping off Forrest.
More sparring today. 4 rounds standup with takedowns and 3 rounds MMA with Kajan and Ash. Did better today than last session. Was more active and thus more successful keeping it at a distance. Jab was working as well as the straight left and lead hook landing cleanly. Got taken down only a couple times in all and stayed out of bad positions. Even reversed and got on top of Kajan for a bit. Feeling good aside from my lead leg that ate a few kicks today, it's a bit stiff now to say the least. We've changed the round duration to help peak for the fight, 2:30 minute rounds with 1:30 breaks.
I'll either do pads if my partner is up for it or do Paul's muay thai class tonight.

Leg is suprisingly still gimpy. Could only do boxing padwork yesterday. We'll see what Kajan suggests for me this morning.

Leg's still stiff but getting better
On the 6th Kajan didn't come for sparring and the regular guys had decided to start early for some reason and were just finishing up as I arrived. I did the evening no gi class instead and took some important lessons on how I'm grappling like a jiu jitsu guy and not an MMA fighter.
Yesterday had some mean pad rounds with lots of movement, pressure against me and defending between combos.
This evening I beleive we're meeting at a newer gym that I haven't been to for some final sparring.

Water loading as begun in anticipation of the cut, 7 litres of water a day.

Went to Tactix, a newer gym in Vancouver that Bruno teaches at. I was suppossed to be meeting Ash and Gary, teammate who are headlining my event, but they didn't make it. Thankfully Bruno was out there, because I felt a bit out of place. The rashguard and shorts were both representing my gym so people seemed a bit wary/sizing me up sort of thing. Anyways, once we got training and it was clear I was just there to learn and train it was fine.
They were doing a wrestling class, which was exactly what I needed. Worked on shooting for double legs, using double underhooks to take back, defending takedowns, and working from over a guy in a sprawl. Also got to work one on one with Colin Daynes, whom I believe represented Canada in olympic wrestling. Anyways, he gave me a ton of pointers on takedown defense and I feel like I picked up exactly what I need. Implement it and I can't lose. =)

Sunday was a monumentally lazy rest day. Today looked to be the same, I've been feeling extremely lethargic. Went in to do advanced no gi and some of the fighters were working together in the cage so joined in on that. Lots of light rolling, learned a few techniques namely a different half guard pass, defending the kimura when they're using it defensively, controlling the back, and ground and pounding from guard. Good stuff, once I got moving I felt great today.

Another day of rest and relaxation. When I emerge from this hibernation I'll be in top condition and ready to rock.
Today was the last day of 7litres of water, tomorrow we cut down to 3 litres as the water cut begins.
My girlfriend's brother died last night. Not good at all. I only mention in here because his funeral is saturday (day of the fights). If I can attend, it should make for an interesting day in all.

Wow man that is rough. I hope your girlfriend and her family are coping well and best wishes man. It is always terrible to hear that stuff.
