No Gi
Technique was butterfly guard passes. Pummelled for positioned, drilled in bad positions, and rolled. Lost a positional roll to a heavyweight fighter that's a really good training partner for me. Was going to lose a round to a purple but pulled off a knee bar from half guard with 5 seconds left. Second round with the heavyweight fighter was a stalemate.

Quick question. Do your sponsors pay you to wear their stuff or do they just give you free stuff and wear it because of the fact its free and your not pro yet?

Medium Term Goal : Win my next fights - June 4th & July 16th.
Goals last week:
-6 Grappling Classes FAIL
-2 Striking Classes FAIL
-3 Shadowboxing + Heavybag sessions FAIL
-1 Burpee Session, beat last session's numbers FAIL
-2 Sessions standup with training partner, Sparring or Pads FAIL
-Finish "Roy Dean's Blue Belt Requirements" FAIL
-Find a torrent for "Ryan Hall's Back Attacks" FAIL
-Drink 7 Litres of water everyday to begin water loading for a practice weight cut SUCCESS
Oops. Was just one class short of 6 grapplings. Was one short of shadowboxing/heavybag sessions. Aches and injuries jammed me up big time this weekend. I'm terrible at procrastinating with watching BJJ dvds.
Goals This Week
-3 Grappling Classes
-1 Striking Class
-3 Heavybag/Shadowbox sessions
-2 Pads or sparring with partner
-1 GSP Workout Day
-Finish "Roy Dean's Blue Belt Requirements"
-Find a torrent for "Ryan Hall's Back Attacks"
-Week 2 of drinking 7 Litres of water everyday to finish water loading for a practice weight cut
-Do a drop in at Mamba's MMA for an evening
Lowered my sights slightly. Less grappling classes to make sure that I don't bail on astriking one afterward. If I have to choose, I always prefer grappling classes and its creating major imbalances in my game.

Shadowboxing 3 rounds
No Gi - Once again technique was butterfly guard pass, reviewing yesterday's technique. Instead of passing after you get one knee over, you can triangle your legs with his foot trapped in your hip, which really keeps him stuck with his knee in a compromising position.
Today in rolling I tried to use minimal strength and work on survival postures and escapes. I moved around well off my back, turtling, reguarding, etc. I hit a few kneebars today, I think I'm really getting the hang of them from a few different positions. I did however fail on one attempt against a purple and we ended up in a tangle of legs that he ankle locked me in. Oops.

Muay Thai
Warm up run, knees, push kicks on bag, push kick to alternate knee, push kick to alternate body kick. Rounds of punch combos ending in low kicks on the shield. Clinch and constant knees. flexibility training.
