Worked with bands and chains today.

Worked up to 2x4 at 315, 2x2 at 330. dropped the weight and added some bands. They were tough, not used to that much tension on the weight. Was very different. Did some bands with 135, 225, and 295 on the bar. Each was hard, after the first set of 225 the guy i was lifting with changed to I guess easier bands so we could up the weight.

did some chain work, something like 185 bar weight, around 90-100 lbs chains for a 3x6 i think. a shit load of volume today, we took like 2-4 minute breaks between sets so it was not very intense.

I heartily accept the motto, "That government is best which governs least"; and I should like to see it acted up to more rapidly and systematically.

505x3x7 deadlifts
worked up to a 585 pull which is 6 plates per side, was pretty tight. believe that to be a pr for me

I heartily accept the motto, "That government is best which governs least"; and I should like to see it acted up to more rapidly and systematically.

I am just trying to get to the magical 400 for deadlifts... I cant imagine doing 505! Though I am close to getting 400 now.

My strength trainer has me do partial deads as my primary back lift and then we swap to power cleans for 1-2 weeks and back to partials. So far its working REALLY well and my progress and gains haven't stopped yet but will for sure take a look at it.

I am really liking ramping instead of pyramiding also...

Was at a gym in some very very small town in Argentina and lifted with quite possibly the strongest human I'll ever meet.
We benched and squatted and he was hitting 315 on bench for sets of 15 and 405 for widowmakers on squats. Very good learning experience and a great ego check as well. Got like 6 more weeks in South America and if my lifting keeps going this way I will return state side a hell of a lot stronger than I left.

I am here as part of a study abroad through my school. Traveling and taking classes in most of the places I have stayed. I am taking 14 credits, so nothing ridiculous. Lots of free time to explore and enjoy this place.

Yea it really is, this time next year I am hoping to be doing the same thing but along the Pacific Rim, get to Thailand, China, Hong Kong etc. Just locked down an internship for next summer up in Boston and got my plane tickets to Australia for spring break!

Got really hammered last night and was not expecting to lift today, but I woke up feeling great.

Clean grip front squat
worked up to 315x3x6 - on the 6th rep of the last set I really lost focus and got loose, had to drop the weight, and somehow, it bounced from the safety pins into my chin... Got a nice little bump there now. Hurt a lot less than I was anticipating though.

snatches
did 205x3
took my 3 attempts to get 225x1. I was not pulling it hard enough into my belly to be able to get underneath it. On the third attempt I pulled it as if I was pulling straight through myself and it hurt a little but i f*ckin got it.

rotator cuff/forearm/core

weight is about 200 - lower than it has been in a while so i am thinking lifting+booze+hot women=success. going to have to find a way to maintain this lifestyle stateside
