Sounds like you did pretty well man, good job. Like the DBZ reference too haha. I have pretty short arms, so I would always (from refs position) pick the near ankle and grab the far wrist and throw a turk until I could get that arm between the legs- as long as youre working the ref wont call stalling and you get back points.

All right cool Iíll try all that out tomorrow at practice. Btw when you say they came back different people how much improved were some of them wrestling whys? I know the camps supposed to make you advance extremely quickly but its always good to here more.

Just all around on the mats they were... sharper I guess would be the word. It always takes people a while to develop a certain style to their wrestling, you know what I mean? Like some kids are great on the mat while some a great standing? Every kid I know who went to Jrob came back knowing where he was best. So they knew where they could win, and knew how to put themselves in that position. Our 125 went to it over the summer, and last year he was maybe 30-15 or something like that. And this year he has only lost twice, and won some big tournaments, and he is a really good mat wrestler, so he can almost always get it on the ground, and he throws legs and from the match is almost always his. Hell sometimes when he gets legs on me he can almost pin me. And thats a big weight advantage I've got.

Hey guys Iíve havenít posted in a while, Iíve been busy and whatever free time I get I usually spend it sleeping. Anyways I went to the league tournament and got eliminated but it was really good experience. My first match I went against a really beastly kid and I crossed faced him pretty hard and he ended up getting pissed and working me over HARD! My next match I went against the kid from one of my first matches I believe the one where I was up like 9-3 then he came back to win. Well I pinned him in 1:33 seconds with a head and arm from the scramble. Next guy I was beating like 4-2 then in the second round he chopped me and got an arm on back. When I tried to stand up I didnít do something right and he threw it behind my back and ended up pinning me. Worst thing is I felt really good against him and the kid later went on to get third place. But like I said the experience was good and I will be ready next year.

I'm back

Post Season
Thatís right my wrestling season has officially came to an end now its time to do post season. Post season consists of Freestyle/Greco Roman Wrestling. Any ways I had my first practice a two days ago and it was wrestling but actually really different. I accidentally tripped teammate when we were practicing Greco but that was kind of funny. Lots of throws and lifts but I founded the most interesting part to be the bottom position. Your opponent will try moves like gut wrenches and you have to get elongated and heavy and not let him move you. It was a fun time learning all the new stuff but it was also a very painful practice for me. My shoulder that I hurt quiet a while ago was giving me excruciating pain which even came when I was in dominant positions. Theirs a greco/freestyle tournament coming up not sure if I should go with 2 practices under my belt and I bad shoulder. But most likely I will go, because I want to wrestle.

So I never went to the tournament thought it was best to heal up, but I will be going to one this weekend. Any ways practice today was ruff as usual, got thrown a few times, dumped on my head, snapped face first into the mat, etc. Worst one was when I was in bottom position then I got picked up while on my fours and thrown. Iím slowly getting the rules of freestyle/Greco and but they still feel so different. Many of the moves I donít recognize so I have no chance to defend them. Other things are Iím really working on my offense but the problem Iím having is finishing my shots I can get in deep most of the time but I cant finish them. Other moves Iím currently working on are blast doubles, leg rides, and snap downs. Iím working now so Iím about to put down a $300 dollar payment on J-Rob, and also Iím going to start lifting soon something that is completely foreign to me.

So do to injuries I am out of wrestling for possibly 1 to 2 months. I canít really do any training that involves using my arms. So I guess will have to work on running, legs, and core. I really know jack shit about weight lifting so I was hoping some of you guys could help me out with a program or what not. My goals are to develop explosiveness, good conditioning, and overall strength. I know this might be hard without being able to really do to much upperbody work but maybe its time to get some Tyson Griffin legs.

All right so Iíve been looking at some pretty interesting things lately my first one would be my Lead Foot. This is one thing Iím am still uncertain about. Apparently the majority of wrestlers lead with there right foot because the majority of people are right handed. But this is odd because I am right handed but I like to lead with my left foot. You would think you want your power leg behind to push off but I am not so sure. Any ways if I am going to be leading with my left foot forward I should take advantage of this, so Iím going to start working on single legs. Single legs will work nicely because most right legged wrestlers will have that front leg out for me to grab onto. But more specifically Iím going to be working on the low single. Though I am not fast I have experimented with move and fond it very nice. And since I am not overly fast it will be good for me, seeing as it is a move that makes your fast through proper technique. One of the most successful wrestlers of all time and the master of the move is John Smith. An 2x Olympic Champion and 6x World Champion the man is full of awesome stuff. What I really like is how he attacks very low, with this and the addition of his speed and other things makes him a takedown monster. Something that I would like to become. I will be ordering his videos ďhow low can you goĒ which should be able to teach me all I need to know about the low single.

So Iíve been doing physical therapy for around a month now and my shoulder is getting better. It odd/difficult not to wrestle since it really is like the only thing I do. But all I can hope is I donít need surgery and that I will be back soon. Iíve been missing some good freestyle/greco stuff but in all fairness I like folkstyle better. Lately Iíve been getting some new wrestling dvds, such as Dan Gableís Advanced Wrestling. Which has some pretty awesome stuff in it, they have everything thing from singles and doubles to standing granbys from being thrown. I know Iím not allowed to wrestle but I might just have to cheat because some of their moves are awwesssoommmeeee.

So I’m still not healed and I’ll probably need surgery soon what the **** I went to practice today. It was Greco and Freestyle so its still taking me a while to adjust. A big thing I have been working on is double legs they are going to be my number 1 takedown. I have been watching a lot of Olympic Gold Medallist Brandon Slay and he is a role model of mine. And another cool thing I learned is that I will be attending a camp he will be at, also a Cael Sanderson camp. Not much to say really just great to be back wrestling.
