Sabermetrics-related work in MMA

Hi folks,

Is anyone aware of any groups (formal or informal) who are doing analyses of MMA data--something similar to the approaches used in sabermetrics?

Thanks!

Not really. Those sorts of approaches aren't going to be that popular outside of team sports, because the performances are so matchup sensitive, and there are so much fewer of them then in baseball, where you have a ton of games in a season.

I might as well throw this graphic in here. Wasn't sure where else to post it.

I appreciate the input. I'll keep searching, because I think it might be argued that pitcher-batter performances, for example, are also match-up sensitive...

That's a cool infographic. Thanks for sharing! Perhaps I'll contact the folks who assembled it to see what they're doing with MMA data...

Check out this fun place with stats on MMA judging. I got a little stat geek in me and I find this place to be entertaining.

Thanks! Although, for the "Most Decisions By Judge" page (for example), they really should standardize for number of opportunities to render a decision. Otherwise, you're not comparing apples to applies (i.e., those with more matches judged would be expected to render more decisions).
