Is It Possible?

Is it realistic to get any decent MMA trainig in your home. My step dad was in nam and knows the fighting shit they tought them overthere. I got the hand pads for punching and the big punching bag. Also a real nice weight set. If i have any chance are there any good exercises i can do? I also wrestle in highschool and know some BJJ so my grapling is ok for my age. I have heavy and semi-fast hands. Also a very strong jaw. Thats about it.

Some of the best exercises for fighting are bodyweight exercises. As I said in another thread, Fedor does not lift weights in his training, so yes, it is possible to get a good workout at home. If your dad really does know what he is doing and knows how to teach it, then why not get some free training?

Yeah, he knows his stuff. Just some of his stuff i have to apply to MMA myself because a few things he has showed me are more for like street fighting.

Well having an unusual style in MMA can be a good thing since most people probably will not know what you are doing next. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't eventually cross train it with something like Muay Thai.

everyone tends to think the same thing, i got heavy hands, when the thought running through their head should be i got great punch placement & timing.
the jaw thing...... have you ever been hit???? i belive great defence is better than a strong jaw....

them kettlebells at :20 look way to light to be used for weight training.

I wasn't the first to say Fedor doesn't lift weights. He said it himself in an interview.
