My first time sparring MMA my trainer, who is WKA (MMA Division) champ,punched me in the chin leaving it numb. He didn't even hit me hard but it hurt.

How'd you get hit?

You have nerves surounding and behind your jaw hinges. They may have been tweeked a bit. It should heal soon, if not, see a doctor.

damn.
that makes me so scared of sparring any one of my instructor's at Fairtex...
either way, i might give it a shot i guess.

long time ago i got hit with a left hook, it clipped my jaw, and dislocated. i remember i did not get knocked out and was still standing, when my trainer tried to take out my mouth piece i could not open my mouth, i could not swallow. i was scared

it happened many years ago and it still effects me to this day, i have been to the doctors and they said i have TMJ. on the right side of my jaw. it is kinda a *****, when it locks up or a spike of pain before it cracks.
