Right fella you want to gain size.

This is without supplements (as yet) and would consist of you breaking up when you eat throughout the day.

Most of us eat breakfast/lunch/dinner... and possibly a snack for supper whilst watching the game/film...

You would need to start say eating a breakfast meal, then an hour/two hours later eating something light then for your lunch eating something, a few houres after this eating something, then eating your dinner, then a few hours later... you get the idea, so overall your having around six meals a day...
these meals dont necceserally have to be large meals, its much better for our human body to actually eat lower amounts of food throughout the day rather than three large meals, as it gives our body chance to break down the food parcels and beenfit from the nutrients, rather than taking on loads of food , getting digestive problems, then breaking it down.
This something your supposed to eat... well you need Carbs to build up the size, and protein to develop muscle and definition of the muscle. there are carbs in your big mac meal, and there are carbs in your tuna/pasta dish... you guessed right, the big mac meal is full of empyty carbs thats just gonna add fat.

Positive carbs (pasta), proteins (fish, chicken) are the more common choice, and are inexpensive.
fish has to be your new best friend, i mean you gotta start swimming with the fish.

Me personally i dont eat six meals a day as im not really bothered about my size, im more bothered about my strength goals, and i used to weigh 14st (like 196lbs or something) now i weigh around 70kg (154lbs) and i can actually lift far heavier weights than i did then... So size isn't everything kid.. you may see bigger guys in your school or whatever and think: damn they must be strong or whatever, but you stick to a healthy diet of pro carbs and proteins and even if you stick to your weight, if your weightlifting and increasing the weight you lift... the bigger guys who dont eat right and hardly train would get walked all over in the gym by you.

Check out bodybuilding forums, i cant ive you a link on here as i dont think its allowed, but google search for places like bodybuilding dungeon, here theres bucketloads of actual diets for free than you can go by for your goals.

Thanks a lot, I appreciate you writing all that for me...

now I may not be the biggest guy, but I fear nobody and consider myself very tough and strong for my age. its not all about size for me don’t get that impression at all, its just I feel I need to gain a little bit more weight to be a bit bigger as im not really happy with my apparel (body wise). Girls in my year may think it’s a nice look, but I want to be that bit bigger just to feel comfortable in my own state of mind and increase my strength...

I have a few questions though, sorry if there unbelievably stupid

• Are there some snacks you could recommend?

• The tuna and pasta…Is the pasta better with tomato sauce, cheese, or just plain and tuna???

• Are certain types of fish better then others? What are some good ones? Are any bad for you (probably not, just making sure lol)??

• When im about to do a workout what should I eat prior to it and what should I eat after (carbs, proteins etc)

• Are protein shakes really all that? Could they count as one of the six meals you mentioned?

Sorry for sooo many questions just preparing myself

Any other input would be greatly appreciated, thank you all

Yea don't worry about it kid, that big monster you see in the corner of the gym lifting 200kilo was once in the same position as you.... Knowledge is Strength.

Snacks i'd recommend checking this
Glycemic Index & A List Of Common Foods

They have this G.I index, with a low G.I index being better.

Start ny picking something with low GI to go along with the meal... remember smaller portions at more intervals throughout the day... not big portions three times a day.

And me personally i can eat tuna on its own straight from the tin as a quick meal, however buy some hellmans mayonnaise, and mix this with your tuna/pasta... there you have carbs (pasta) tuna (protein) and mayo (fat)... this gains size like theres no tommorow.

Theres bad in everything... but overall most fish to my knowledge is ok to eat, however scientists have found high levels of mercury in fish such as salmon... but i wouldnt worry to much.
Avoid fish thats battered, this is shit.
tuna is dirt cheap as is tins of salmon, tesco etc do buy one get one free on tins of tuna

For working out hmmm well its about you as an individual, and we are different people, however myself i prefer to eat a few bananas before (30min) a workout.
Fruit is very important, use it to your advantage..
When you wanna snack of chocolate/crisps whatever, grab a banana/apple something instead.

After your workout well a tuna/pasta/mayo dish again crops up, perfect.. or maybe some grilled chicken with a jacket potato/salad.
jacket potatoes are quick and you can add some fillings quick (maybe tuna/mayo)...

Yes i would recommend protein shakes, but the prices some of these companies charge are ridiculous... you could venture out and make your own shake recipes (bodybuilding dungeon) if you wanted to...
If you have some money lying around, i'd recommend Maximuscle Cyclone for building size & strength.
Maximuscle Cyclone | An 'all in one' supplement for better health and fitness
its expensive shit though, so try one tub, if your happy, order more (the more tubs you order the cheaper it goes).

And i'd recommend a shake like less than 5min after a workout.

If your eating a meal with not alot of protein/carbs then grab a shake and drink it alongside your meal... and no i wouldnt recommend just drinking a shake as a meal replacement.

Dude thanks for all that help man, great info!

you know that creatin tub, Is it suitable for someone my age? you seem like you know exactly what your on about so just want to make sure...

Also does it really help? is it worth the 40 squid? if it is I will have to invest in it...

finnaly what flavour is the best hehe? I like vanilla ice scream etc, but it may not taste as nice in the shake. Is good ol chocolate fine?

So basically

Chicken, pasta with tuna and mayo, tuna in a tin, banana's after workouts and before (just a general snack),salmnon, is all good. I will definately be eating these more consistantly. I will look at that GI link you gave me in detail now. Any other food reccomendations would be awesome!

Again, thanks for your help, and any help from anyone would be awesome

Yea man your 17 you'll be ok using it, however cyclone does contain creatine, this can develop spots more commonly... but ive never developed em when i used cyclone... i now use Maximuscle promax extreme... but this is for a different goal.

Dont buy it if you cannot afford it... right now holland & barrett are doing whey protein dirt cheap, like half price and shit... go on their website or into their stores (their in every town in the uk, with a green sign) and buy whey protein (like £9.99 and it does the job).. just cyclone for me worked better.

oh and gimme some rep kid

Holland and Barrett - Product Details For Whey Protein

like this? and when should I be taken this? before a workout? how many times a day etc...

I dunno im just concerned because it seems so artificial. I remember one guy saying this stuff was no good for me etc so Im still a little skeptical...

but yea, if the differences are minor I would obviously choose this one of the 39.99 one

Trainee has a little shameless behaviour in the past
My advice to you is to forget about the way you look. Completely forget about it. Being strong, but small is great. You're quick AND powerful...
What have looks done for anyone anyway? (in MMA, I mean, lol)

EDIT: I didn't see the second page...sorry, I'm an idiot. Great advice SteSteez (again).
Muscle Building Tips
Here's something I came across on Google for you. I hope it helps (I've only skimmed through it. Sorry if it's useless).
