Muscle loss in odd areas. Need to fix my pecs.

So i've been cutting a massive amount of weight. I'm aiming at a drop from about 180 to keeping a walking weight in the 150s. My progress has been going pretty well and overall i've been able to maintain the majority of my muscle while continuing muscle development. However, it's become apparent that my pecs are just simply falling behind. I don't get it. I've always had naturally muscular pecs with a good amount of definition but since i've dropped weight the upper half of my pectoral area seems to be diminishing.

I don't get it. I'm still benching but the results just aren't there anymore. Any tips or ideas? Could it just be a result of my increased cardio or dietary changes?

It could be that you have more fat than muscle in your pecs.

In your bench press are you doing the full bench press or only going half the way?

EC_Raider_07 has a little shameless behaviour in the past
Replace the benchpress with lots of pushups and see if it helps.

Full. The thing is that it seems that they are losing shape while the rest of my body is becoming more toned.

I'll give that a shot starting with my work out today.

Yeah. Benchpress is more of a strength exercise. If you want to tone up the pecs, pushups are the way to go. Good luck bro, let us know how it comes along.

Maybe you need to up your protien intake a little?

I noticed my arms (my trophy muscle group) were looking smaller so I added an extra protien shake in after my workouts and my overall muscles condition seemed to improve (just a little) over time.

no no no.... if you want to tone your upper pecks do a few sets of incline bench press, that targets your upper pecks. and add in some flyes if you are really concerned.

what do you mean by cutting weight deadpool?

When I do bench presses, I like to bring the bar down towards the top of my chest or my neck. I've seen better results with that than with the regular flat bench and bringing the bar down to the bottm of my chest

Ahh excuse the terminology. I'm just losing weight. I just returned from my freshman year of college and I was pretty inactive so I definitely picked up that freshman 15, maybe a little more. Anyway I have most of that off and i'm dropping into the 150s. I suppose it may just be an area of my body suffering from the weight loss but it's annoying.
