Methods/How you cut weight

I know that the answer to this question is completely ambiguous, but i just want a reasonable, ballpark answer. So please bear with me. I'm thinking about an ideal weight for me to fight at. im only 150lbs and pretty short. I was thinking about 135lbs, but 15lbs seems like alot to cut. I know its all about trial and error and figuring out what cut makes me feel the healthiest. However, i just want to hear it from an expert or anyone with experience. How kmuch weight is reasonable in my situation, and over a period of how long should it take me to reach this weight. Keep in mind i am pretty short so 135 isnt really that small.

Thanx in advance

How do some of you guys cut weight? And how long does it take you guys? A freind of mine takes one-a-days (multi-vitamins) and carries around a cup for his spit. He chews alot of sour gum to dehydrate himself.

How short is pretty short? It's impossible to gauge what weight you would feel most comfortable at without knowing more about your musculature and physique. If you could give more info on your current amount of body fat, and the proportions of your trunk and legs it would be very helpful. Personally i'm 5'6 and looking to keep myself in the 150s or perhaps a bit lower. I cut over 20 pounds from late may til now but I'm currently training at around 160. For me the majority of my power is located in my back and lower body i'm not sure if you are the same way so consider that there is the possibility of muscle loss.

Ohhhhh i definitely should have been more specific. I dont have any tape around, but i remember measuring myself in gym class last semester and i was 168cm. I'm positive that it translates to about 5'6" or so. My body is pretty proportionate but my legs are a little (slightly), longer than what is the norm of a person my size. I take a 32-34 leg, and a 32 waist. My wingspan from fingertip to finger tip, is 71 inches. Im about 15% body fat but that was literally a year or more ago. Right now, my weight fluctuates from about 147lbs to 154lbs and thats without any weight loss what-so-ever. I do not want to lose any of my muscle mass. I may lose a few pounds of fat, but on sheer dehydration, how much shouold i cut, and how long before a fight should it take me to reach the determined weight.

if your fat % is that high you should be able to loose quite a bit..right befor wrestling i am at 3% and able to drop 5lb befor taking the offical body fat test..during season i am usualy about 137 and wrestle at 125 with no alowance
