did you know the nose can be used to give you access to a choke hold?

Yea basicly if the person has thier chin tucked and your trying to get a choke hold, place your finger under there nose and just lift back, it will left the chin off thier chest and allow you to slip your hand in between the chest and chin allowing for a choke.

Yeah, the nose trick isn't the friendliest thing in the world. Usually, if I have trouble adjusting to a choke, especially one from behind, I don't want to sacrifice my leverage or my free arm to pull on the nose, so I just wrap my forearm around the chin and twist my body to turn it into a neck crank.

that can work too, just the nose one if your in position to do so is kinda humiliating to your opponent becasue strength can not help them and the hard they try to fight that it just makes it that much easier

Absolutely. But if you're fighting someone that's really strong and slightly competant, they're waiting for you to loosen your hold a little bit, which always happens when you reach for the nose.
It makes sense to go for the chock, because it's much harder to resist, I just always worry that somewhere between grabbing the nose and applying the choke, they'll get free. This is where I find the neck crank so useful.

Yeah. It's standard BJJ to use the legs to get leverage. If you're already behind your opponent then its only one small step to let out the hooks and twist to the side so that you're cranking the neck.Use the chin as the tight hold and let'errip and the taps come quick and hard.

I have about a year and a half of boxing training. I really want to train in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Looks like you're training for some MMA. Just remember that BJJ isn't the only form of grappling, don't just limit yourself to its submissions.
Oh... And good luck to ya.
