well the basis of the wing chun is very close quarter fighting with the emphasis on short punching and elbows all coming through your centre line and from hips. the mantis is more about brutal power and knocking through any defence and smashing fists. i have yet to move on to the pressure point traing yet. so i have found in street fights in general, the wing chun is for close quarter defence, the mantis for all out attack and my judo for the grappling side. the kick boxing i have found more usefull for conditioning and kicking power.

hmm sounds if you can add a good ground style maybe Japanese Jujitsu or Brazillian your gonna be a well rounded fighter. the different styles might confuse people early in the fight and give you a slight advantage early on which if I were you I would try to take advantage of

well i have just managed to scope out a shootfighting school in my city in england so i think it is time o start adding those ground skills. i do agree mixing up my stand up could be an advantage, where i live it is inevetable to be fighting assholes some weekends. the old english pissed hooligan syndrome lol. and its amazing how badly these so called hard guys fight and it does give me a chance to test things out. dont get me wrong i dont like street fights but over here you cant avoid it some weekends.

First it was karate when I was a kid and I made it up to brown belt before quitting at age 12.

Then I joined Jiu Jitsu and are a green belt here. It's hard but fun learning the techniques and counters especially when I've had a coach who apparently has been in two UFC PPVs. He lost to Evan Tanner and Dan Severn but is an awesome coach. I can't wait to fight in a tournament. That would be sweet kicking another persons a-- since you can fight the same way as in school. But so far no one on one fight tournaments. Just sparring, etc tournaments where you show off your moves. Thats only for the higher belts.

I am trying to find boxing but theres none here since I live in a community where people think its strong to use weapons instead of fists.
