For those who train and have fought,

how long til your first fight, sparring, etc

I remember when I first joined my uncles boxing gym. The first day I walked in he threw a mouth peice, head gear and gloves and me and said show me what you got. A sort've baptism by fire if you will. I remember something he told me that day "there is no wax on wax off to fighting, you learn to fight by fighting"

but i would recommend being in at least decent shape to start, so do some running, stretching and strength training

Well i started doing martial arts at 10... and didn't fight til I was 22. So 12 years of training I guess.

sparring, since i was 10. right away
