I know theres going to be a few people saying go away you stupid stoner but obviously there are fighters who smoke and im just wondering if anyone knew the different fighters who smoke marijuana? :dunno:
getting addicted to anything is mental,be it weed, alchohol, crack, sex(well not sex we are all addicted to that),but you know what im saying.ive smoked for 23 years,Ive quit for 6 months,3 months, whenever I thought I had a problem .I stopped to see if I had any withdrawls,I had none.If you are a responsible person you will know when you have a problem.Thats when you start to question your judgement.Like Ive said before I like catching a nice buzz, but my family, career and general well being comes first,USE COMMON SENSE!!!!
LOL I think he is saying that even physical addictions have a mental aspect as well. Which is true. You need to use your brain whether you're physically addicted or just mentally addicted in order to quit.
i am another functioning adult who balances family, job, workouts, and visits the tomato patch from time to time (but not for awhile, i explained in other threads). I think if everyone who smoked was up front about it, most of the antidrug propaganda types would be flabbergasted
I was disappointed to hear Nick Diaz tested positive for THC after his fight with Gomi. Then I thought... If anything, weed would be detrimental to a fighter's ability, so it's not like he was all juiced up or something. It just told me he's that good of a fighter.
i smoke the magic dragon from time to time... it helps keep me balanced.
as far as fighters go, i know nick diaz, tito ortiz and kendal grove all have.
but seriously... more people than not have tried weed.
for the record getting high on weed is less damaging to the brain overall than getting drunk, by a good margin. its also more healthy on all ur other organs except your lungs.
a great alternative for consuming a much worse substance, alcohol.
People may go on about how it's not that unhealthy and it's better than alchohol etc. but every hardcore stoner I know ends up being a lazy guy with no initiative. It doesn't seem to matter too much if you use it just a little, but someone tell me you can't spot a chronic pothead on sight. Just lazy as fck man. Even the speech pattern is a lazy drawl.
I'm not saying I haven't puffed it a bit in college, but if you're serious about any sort of athletic training, you can't stick with it.. drug tests and the laziness theory aside, The stuff kills your lung capacity too. Alchohol ain't nearly that bad in comparison.
As far as I know, Nick Diaz is the only pro MMA fighter that's ever tested +ve for it. I wouldn't be surprised if Nate was on it too, but this is based on nothing but a hunch and the way he comes off. BJJ specialists are the only ones that can really afford to be on it and still make it pro.. their specialty relies more on technique and flexibility than athleticism (Royce wasn't exactly buff), so it probably doesn't matter too much.
to pass a drug test (piss test) up your creatine intake for about a week or 2 and drink as much water as you possibly can. especially on quiz day. on day of take a bunch of b12 and asprin.
Ive smoked for 23 years and I have no "slow drawl" and I am not lazy, dont stereotype.I dont burn every day, because I have college, work, and a family,so dont give me all pot smokers are dumb and lazy!!To each his own.Every one is different, dont dismiss someone because they do things differently than you.

It doesnt kill ur lung capacity as much as u think. I have asthma and smoke all day every day for the last two years (i had drug tests in high shcool) and i can still go on with my workout no problem.
And there aint anything like smokin a fat blunt while trippin balls on shrooms at an incubus concert.
...getting high before training? You must not be too good then, no offense.
'Cause unless you don't smoke right, or smoke shit weed, or don't know what a high feels like, there's no way you train properly.

I think it's all in your head. But if you think it helps, it's all good for you.
