Meals Out
I am having trouble putting together meals that I can take with me to school during the day and work. The food that I can buy at these places really sucks so I would prefer to pack my own meals. My diet really suffers from this because most off the time I end up eating very little and this needs to change. Any ideas of things that I can incorporate in these meals on the go?

Veggies, fruit, peanut butter sandwiches, almonds, tuna sandwiches.

I always have some protein bars on me. When I feel a little hunger coming on I just scarf one down. Keep Almonds on you. Almonds and water expand in your gut and make you full if you need some time to get to a real meal.
Pre-Plan your week. Go to wal-mart and get a tupperware drink container and make protein shakes in the morning or night before to take with you and go. Make a big batch of speghetti using lean meat and Whole Wheat noodles and eat on it during the week. Make a big batch of oatmeal and use it in your protein shakes. |
string cheese, chili with a bunch of beans & vegetables in it, cashews or almonds like the other post said.
whole wheat pasta is very underrated. It has a lot of protein as well as fiber. making the sauce with lean ground beef is an excellent recommendation as it tends to get better as days go by ie the seasonings etc. any kind of fruit that won't make a mess. Sometimes I also carry a small bottle of hot sauce with me, b/c even if I can get a filling, lean soup or chili out, it tends to be kind of bland. If yr taking a sandwich, read the label on the bread. a ton of breads say on the label "whole grain" then they don't have any more fiber than white bread, so wth is the point. |
