Supplements

Anyone have an suggestion on a supplement that would be useful to gain muscle after weight training? I am looking for a good price too I don't want to spend to much on supplements.

The simple answer would be a good Whey Protein shake. If you're hard gainer, then I'd advise you thinking about getting glutamine to take before you go to sleep. Creatine is also good to help repair and build muscle quicker. Creatine and Glutamine are relatively expensive though, so go with the Whey Protein and choose one that isn't full of sugar.

Whey + Dextrose , all you'll need.

Something you should consider though if you're serious about reaching your goals:

supplements don't make you grow.

one meal doesn't make or break your diet.

your whole diet does, 24/7.

No doubt. Evaluate your diet and your ultimate goals. Then do your research on each supplement you're thinking about using.
For instance, creatine does not help repair muscle. It's a cell volumizer, and it allows your muscle cells to get more blood, which means more ATP, which means more energy while lifting. You'll be able to lift heavier for more reps, and you'll work your muscle fibers more than you usually would. If you take creatine, I highly suggest you combine it with glutamine or BCAA's to assist in muscle repair.
Anyway, you'll hear all kinds of stuff on forums, and a lot of it is good advice. A lot of it is also opinions based on personal experience. Remember, everybody is different, and you should do what's right for you.

Optimum Nutrition makes pretty tasty whey shakes that have a decent blend of isolates, concentrates, etc. have all key amino acids and are low cal, low fat. the are also pretty affordable in comparison to other brands. try Home at DPS Nutrition - The Nation's leader in Discount Nutrition for best prices. a friend showed me this site. they have everything and most of it is wholesale pricing.

if you take creatine, don't take monohydrates. they store excess water moreso than creatine ester. when you stop taking the monohydrates you lose the excess water and you will appear to lose a lot of mass. the esters wont make you retain as much water.

other than that your supplements look good southpaw.
i would look at a whole food multivitamin instead of the animal pack though. that stuff has a low level of bioavailable vitamins- meaning your body wont absorb them as readily as a whole food vitamin.

the ON Whey is absolutely awesome, and to a lesser degree the MM shake. MM tastes pretty good, but it has more fat than ON.

I would first start of with a whey and some creatine. As for creatine I would choose CEE over Monohydrate. CEE absorbs better. Right now the best one availabe would be BSN CellMass. As for whey I would go with Optinum Nutrition or Cytosport.
