yup, i think you'll find it in supermarkets near the milk and cottage cheese

similar to cottage cheese but tastes slightly different ( some prefer it ) and is usually lower in fat and carbs

1-1.5 g protein per pound of bodyweight
45-50 % carbs
25-30 healthy fats
At least 5 portions of veggies and fruits.

i'd say your protein is on the lower end of acceptable. You are already active so weight muscle gains, you may want to try say 175g? Maybe at the most 200.

Just be sure to drink 1-2 gallons of water daily to keep uric acid levels low and spread the protein intake out so it's actually used by the body.

this is pretty good advice, but the 1-2 gallons of water is too much. it will cause frequent urination and potential loss of valuable electrolytes, vitamins and some minerals. cut it to 1 gal over a 24 hour period. you should stay hydrated but not saturated.

you definitely need lots of dark green veggies like broccoli (it is high in lutein and iron) spinach, kale, etc. Also carrots, beets and squash for vitamins A, E, etc.

You need fruits as well and I really recommend fruits with high antioxidant properties and fruits containing valuable enzymes. examples: Cantaloupe, Papaya, Mango, acai, goji, cranberry, blueberry, currant, banana, dates or figs.

For protein, mix it up. a lil lean beef and some occasional eggs are ok, but dont eat them every day cause your cholesterol with skyrocket. some soy products are an excellent source of protein, as are most any beans ( the beans are an excellent source of fiber too, which is very important). Its hard to get, but ostrich is an AMAZING source of protein and iron and it tastes similar to beef.

make sure any bread you consume is whole wheat. Gluten isn't bad for you as long as your fiber intake is commensurate with your gluten intake. (example- if you eat oatmeal, switch to porridge or Irish Oatmeal. Instant oatmeal is high in gluten and low in insoluble fiber)

using the food suggestions above you could make diet that would certainly work.
Note: careful with your fish intake. if you eat tuna, avoid albacore or other predatory fish. they contain higher levels of toxins because they eat other fish and accumulate higher toxin levels from doing so. if you dont know what kind of fish you're eating, limit it to 2 times a week. Or, go with farm raised salmon.

Lol why are you quoting me?

and no, this is bodybuilding, not the doctor's health corner

Please don't hesitate eating fish(common ones), fish is great.. eat as much as you want as long as it fits in with the rest of your diet.

What you're saying is not necessarily true,
mercury poisoning is extremely rare, I've yet to witness a case.. even though I know a lot of people who eat tinned tuna every day and have done so for many years.

most canned tuna is yellow or bluefin unless it expressly says albacore. also, eating 4+ servings of fish per week increases your chances of having higher than normal levels of mercury. no, you ownt get mercury poisoning, but it has been shown to lead to dimension and contribute to alzheimers in old age as the mercury causes a longterm decline in the number of synapses in the brain.
im not saying avoid fish. im saying be careful of which kind you are eating. as i said, farm raised salmon is healthier than wild salmon or wild tuna for that matter.
something else to consider is that the USDA and WHO have discovered that fish in the atlantic ocean are showing 5-10 times the heavy metal levels that are in the same species of fish living in the pacific.

I disagree with that one, most people greatly lack n3 in their diet... and wild salmon is rich in n3, unlike farm raised

very true, but you could make up for it by eating a little more than a handful of black walnuts or adding flaxseed/ flaxseed oil to your diet which have higher concentrations of n3s.

where cooked salmon (chinook) offers 83% of your daily value walnuts have 91% and flaxseed has 140%. the health benefit of the flaxseed outweighs the salmon significantly.

Whoa, pink salmon? Tastes better? Yikes, man what fish have you been eating? I live in Alaska, and Pinks are what we send to our relatives down south because we can't stand the thought of eating it. I mean, if it was decent, I'd eat it, but I can't stand the stuff. I'd eat cod before pinks. Off-topic, sorry.
I think mercury is only really a threat to pregnant women, last time I checked. Unless of course, you're eating fish constantly. I don't think it's really that big of an issue, is it?
