Bench Press and the Chest
This past month has been basically the first time I started hitting the weights again in the gym in a long time. (Nature was my gym.) The problem I am having is that when I do a bench press, I really feel it more in my triceps then in my chest. Is this right, or am I doing something wrong?
edit*
It only feels like a good chest workout when I do a dumbbell press and I get a good stretch going at the bottom with the dumbbells, but I only feel it on the outer part of my chest no the inner.

Add in some dips and close grip bench.

close grip tends to focus the triceps even more
try wider
and do the dips wide and weight them

Yes but if he gets tired i his triceps and not the chest, he probably has weak triceps and a strong chest, so he should focus more on strengthening is tricepses. So I agree with wukkadb.

no, if he already gets a lot of tricep work out of his chest work out, why would he need to start focusing it even more?
he's looking for a big chest, not overall strength
the problem is probably just improper technique
arch back a little, make a big chest and squeeze it, keep shoulderblades locked

I have the same "problem" my triceps are strong but my chest lacks even though it looks pretty built.
Good thing the only two excercises I care about are Deadlifts and Squats

His chest isn't getting tired because his triceps are weak and are gassing before his chest does.. so he should focus on his triceps more so they'll be strong enough to keep up with his chest.

Hmm thats werid how you feel it in your tris... but when I started working out I never did bench press I did free weight press, then moved onto the bench press. The only thing I can say is if your hands are to close. The closer your hands are together the more you work your triceps.

His post doesn't mean his form is wrong nesecarily? It could very well be possible that his triceps are just weaker than his chest and gas very quickly.
