Preparing for a Competition

I am trying to prepare for a competition. Can anyone suggest some good conditioning exercises?

Run up hills carrying sandbags.

Get tired.
Rest.
Then explode back up.

Make this a routine and repeat throughout the week.

Wear a mouth guard also.

I'm trying to prepare for a Full Contact Kickboxing tournament.

My first time on the tournament circuit. Any advice or tidbit I get would be extremely helpful.

do road work, hill work, strength training and lots of sparring and regular gym work. as the compition gets close, get yourself mentally ready for the fight.

Re:Preparing for Competition

Good Luck, Edward, I prepare for competitions by doing a lot of cardio exercises to build my stamina. I do a lot of running apart from repeated punching, kicking and technique practice.

However, I also found a very interesting response to a similar question by Professor Gary Lee in Martialcafe.com

Dont release your boys a few days before the comp. Keep your manhood in the pants and dont blow your load. Keeps your testosterone levels higher and less work on your body to produce more.
