karate is okay if you can find an okinawan or shotokan. there's one other but i forget the name. they are the more agressive forms. most of the other styles are used to teach kids and aren't practical for mma as far as technique goes. if you want a striking oriented discipline i really reccomend muay thai or boxing/ kickboxing.

If you need to get in shape you should join your highschool wrestling team. The workouts are great, you'll have some guidance from your coach/s, you'll learn some great stuff for grappling and best of all, it's free.

Well, I've been running this weekend.

Although, I didn't get today, but this is what I did do.

I played basketball for a while, I know, has nothing to do with it, but I was running around, if that means anything. Then, I used the padding around my neighbor's basketball goal for a punching bag and worked on that for a good while, my punches already look a lot better to me, but that doesn't mean they're anything great. and then I walked a mile to my family's house. Does walking help me any?

Find a good Chito-Ryu Doj and train in it...it's very good and i find it easy to adpat to mma

I've been running a good bit for me lately and I have a boxing bag (neighbor's basketball goal again =P], so that's basically my workout. There's a good chance that my good bud, Jonathan will help me out with this trainin stuff. He's like 5'10 and in freakin great shape, lifts weights and everything. Question is, if I got in a fight with him (obviously not a serious one, I'm talking about for fun and stuff) then what would my strategy be? He acted like he can't do anything on the ground, but then again, I don't know if I can either lol.
