Diet/Supplement help

I am 18 yrs of age and I need help to transform my gut to muscles. I am not fat I weight like 135-140 but I just have some fat on the sides and a gut, and I want to get rid of it.

I dont have a specific diet but I eat a salad everyday and have 3 meal a day (with no chicken involved

I run each day at night for about 20-30 mins and afterwards do some crunches, push ups and some stretching.

All I want is to turn the fat into muscle and I wanted to know if there is any supplements or a certein diet that can do that for me?

although some info-mercials may make the claim, miracle drugs that transform body fat into muscle just don't exist. diet, diet, diet ... the only way to rid the body of fat. a good workout routine will go a long way but you'll be building muscle under belly-blubber. 3 meals a day aren't enough, try 6. google "fruit flush diet". i dropped 11 pounds in 11 days - no sh!t. there are claims of people losing 9 pounds in 3 days but to me that doesn't sound realistic for someone who trains and already has a base. the day before i started, i loaded up on protein (NO JOKES GUYS!) and for the next 2 days ate nothing but fresh fruit. on days 3 - 11 i mixed in a handfull of nuts - pistachios, peanuts, and/or sunflower seeds, all unsalted, for lunch. this worked for me but like everything else, everyone's body reacts just a little differently to diet and exercise so don't get discouraged if you don't get the same results. also, i eat a piece of fruit (the average apple is about 100 calories) about an hour before going to bed - from what i understand, it helps keep your metabolism in fat burning mode rather than fat storing mode. plus, the apple's better for me than a bowl of frosted flakes! good luck and stick with it.

he's a few helpful pointers that will most likely help that gut problem. (out of curiosity, how tall are you? you may not really have a gut.)

Drink more water. Tired of water? drink white tea with honey or agave nectar (agave nectar preferred). Cut out sodas and ANYTHING with HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP. read ingredients- HFCS is in EVERYTHING. HFCS causes a myriad of problems, but in males cutting this out typically leads to weight loss and a better regulation of the metabolism.

Do ab workouts with a medicine ball, on an incline or a combination of the two. typically body weight alone is not enough.

try this for a couple weeks. if you don't see a difference then it's time to cut calories.

yeah dude, you're not too bad. you should prob aim for 155 to start and depending on your body type, possibly 170. 155 is a more reasonable goal. you need to do cardio, but you gotta gain some muscle to up your metabolism a bit.

HEY im right at 6' and around 165-170
I DO have a case of boobs and belly blubber...
I have been in great shape about 2 1/2 years ago, but
than quite exercising and everything.
typically now Im not so dedicated as to work out everyday,
but I do situps, crunches, and pushup at least 4 days a week, as well as bike riding, and walking.

me and the wife are about to go on a diet to cut basically
everything out and add in the right amounts of stuff.
I will stay away from the HFCS, anything else to keep in mind... ? I do take a 'mens daily' multivitamin..
anything else?

I don't know how much water you're drinking but drink more. 6 meals a day (small portions), lots of fruits and veggies, raw when you can, bananas and mangos are great for you. Get plenty of rest/sleep, stretch atleast twice a day, keep up the bike riding, push yourself to the breaking point. You don't raelly need to kill yourself weight training but some sort of resistance training is a must. Push-ups and sit-ups, dips and crunches, work the obliques and lower back. Strengthen the core. Blah blah blah ... Don't give up.

calories man. just watch your calories and specifically your calories from fat. calories from fat need to make up no more than 1/6 of your total caloric intake. monitor your usual eating habits and see how many calories you consume. once you get that number, post it here and we'll take it from there.

well not that im fat (do got a little extra covering
my abs) but Im taking part in a diet in support for my wife.
starting the south beach diet- cutting out alot of carbs and sugar right now, so for the first 2 weeks or so, no breads (thats killing me), fruits, sweet vegetables, desserts or anything. basically just eating lean meat, lowfat everything(milk,cheese) and eating some vegetables.

this is really just helping me change the way I do things
with my intake and then really stepping up my exercise.
plus I was just given a bowflex (for free!)
