I'm looking for some new workout music. I normally listen to Young Jeezy - Thug Motivation 101, which great for working out but i'm looking for some new sounds.
Thanks.

I love German stuff. That always gets me pumped. There's these guys called Schlechta Umgang with a song called Crew Song that always makes me feel like a bad ass.
I also like to hear old jazz and extremely cheesy stuff like Aqua. Then, when it gets really intense I'll play some hard rock like ACDC.
Anything that doesn't distract me with lyrics and has a really edgy sound tends to work for me

Nice thread.

i dunno man i like a lot of stuff

i find that hardcore punk or some badass underground rap like immortal technique or jedi mind tricks pumps me up

oh and TNT by ACDC...dunno what it is about it...just gets me jacked up when i'm working the bag

i like music that sounds tough. I like tough lyrics that make me feel tough just listening to them. Jedi Mind Tricks is the usual Go-To for rap, but I grew up in the straightedge hardcore scene, so my playlist is pretty different.
my playlist for the gym/ running:

Jedi Mind Tricks
Bulb
the Acacia Strain
Bury Your Dead
Earth Crisis
Bad Religion
Thrice
Converge
All Shall Perish
Pig Destroyer
Army of the Pharoahs
Bane (only the Give Blood album)
DJ Doboy (Trance/ Vocal trance... gets me focused, but lowers the intensity a notch or two)
Hatebreed (only Satisfaction Is the Death of Desire album)
DMX
MF DOOM
ISIS
Rosetta
Shai Hulud
Strike Anywhere

that should be enough to get you rollin. some of these bands have done the walk-ins for various UFC fighters. I know Hatebreed wrote a song just for Arlovski to walk in to, which is the song that plays on arlovski's website as well. Converge is headed by Jacob Bannon who owns Deathwish records, which sponsored Joe Lauzon. just an interesting fact.

Edit: almost forgot ETOWN CONCRETE!!!!! alway at the top of my playlist. the only rap/ rock that is okay to listen to.

Pride FC theme on repeat1. :thumb02: No joke. . .

But if I somehow get sick of that then:-

Creed - Bullets
Disturbed - The Game
Eminem - Lose Yourself
Eric Martin - Last Man Standing
In Flames - Ordinary Story
In Flames - Cloud Connected
Papa Roach - Last Resort
Rob D - Furious Angels
System of a Down - Chop Suey
The Prodigy - No Good
The Prodigy - Poison
Van Halen - Right Now

Some Ministry, The Mad Capsule Markets or Nine Inch Nails sometimes too. Not often though.

Good list, I really like those songs. Arlovski's intro Onward to Victory By Hatebreed also helps me workout. And as lame as the song is, Live to Win by Paul Stanley..........

LOL

If I'm at home in my room working out then I'll stick this HL of Fedor Vs CroCop on instead of having it on my mp3 player. Got Right Now playing over the top.

Bands that are good for working out to

Throwdown
Hatebreed
Stemm
Bury Your Dead
Chimaira
Gojira
Himsa
Job for a Cowboy
Killswitch Engage
Soulfly

Those are most of my favorites for working out to.

Gojira is a lil slow for my taste. JFAC is too much "bree" vocals. I gotta hear the words to get hyped.

Earth Crisis, Kids Like Us, Hatebreed (as you mentioned) Bad Religion, Walls of Jericho and Most Precious Blood will get the ball rollin. especially KLU- its just sloppy fast and mean hardcore. can't beat that.

My favorite bands to listen to while working out are:

-Unearth
-Killswitch Engage
-As I Lay Dying
-Pantera
-Lamb Of God
-In Flames
-Ministry
-Rammstein
-Dimmu Borgir
-Ministry
-Metallica
-Shadows Fall
-Damage Plan

Personally I find As I Lay Dying and Killswitch Engage to be damn near perfect for doing bag work. AILD especially, because you can do power shots throughout the songs, and the drummer for AILD is so insane, they put a lot of blast beats in their songs, where he drums REALLY fast and REALLY loud, when he does that is when you start punching faster and harder, and try to keep up with his drumming. Do that for about 5 or 6 songs and tell me it doesn't provide a ridiculous workout. Especially the song "Morning Waits".

If you like working out to blast beats, give Vital Remains a listen. the album Dechristianize is 2/3rds blast- stopping only for epic guitar solos. That album had Glenn Benton of Deicide doing vocals... intense.

Jedi Mind Tricks
Army of the Pharaohs
Celph Titled
Apathy
Wu Tang Clan
Nobody spits lyrics as mean as Vinnie Paz. That man is full of hate. I love it. Not good for working out in a regular gym tho... you start grittin on dudes and next thing you know you think you're bulletproof cause you got vinnie paz yellin all this mean s*** in your ear... it doesn't end well. haha. If you like that type of rap, doctor octagon and Necro are right up there with him.

seriously though: metal and underground rap owns in the gym.

but then you gotta do some yoga to Sigur Ros or Explosions in the Sky to come down off the intensity. That or headboard banging mattress pounding sex.

I'll give you Lamb of God just because they took hardcore to a new level, but get some balls about you man. Machine Head? Metallica? Dont be such a *****, and to everybody else reading this please God dont listen to any of the bands he listed, (theyre really sucky). As much as I hate the ones mentioned above theres worse. They are Disturbed, God Smack is just downright dog s*** and Bury Your Deads favorite line is Bury Your F***ing Dead, how original and so horrendously generic. If you want something to train to I find that, something with some speedy double bass and a tasty breakdown does the trick. Try......

The Acacia Strain

iwrestledabearonce ( shes a chick that does good vocals,
the girls from Arch Enemy, and Walls of Jericho just need
to shove a dick back down their throats and choke on it)

Emmure

Misery Signals

As I Lay Dying (The thrashy stuff)

Haste The Day (Everything but Pressure the Hinges)

Parkway Drive

A Plea for Purging

A Day to Remember (Just to get you pumped)

and of course the make sure that if you dont get any of the bands above get some

ALL SHALL PERISH!!!!

Any european house music is amazing for cardio.
